As I stepped into Ricky High School, it felt as if I was in a ballroom. Everyone took a glance at me but then continued their day. Then I came across these really pretty girls. Foundation, mascara, eyeshadow, eyeliner, etc. Then they had some nose piercings and extra ear piercings as well. They had clothes from Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Forever 21, and Hollister. ‘They must be the cool kids,’ I thought. So after I looked at them, I just walked off and went on with my day.

“Take a look at this rat,” I heard one of them say.

“I know right? Looks like she gets everything in the dumpster, even her clothes.” I heard another.

“Did you see her take a look at us?” said the tall one.

“Looks like we have another girl to use,” said their leader.

“You are beautiful the way you are. If anyone tells you otherwise, just ignore it. They're just jealous of how gorgeous you are.” As I walked into class, everyone stared at me. They started talking again after I took my seat. Then I saw the cool girls again. Everyone started saying hi to them. And that's when I finally learned their names.

The girl with the blonde hair, two nose piercings, and wore Gucci brand is Harley Young. The girl with the black to blonde ombre, tons of ear piercings, and wore Louis Vuitton is Everly Lee. The girl with the curly black hair, very tall, and wore Forever 21 is Naomi Torres. Last but not least, the girl with the pink highlights, wears tons of makeup, and wore Hollister is Valentina Hernandez, the leader of the squad.

Once they took their seats, class started. “Hello, students!” the teacher had started. “We have a new student here with us today. Heart! Come on up here and introduce yourself!” When she called my name to introduce myself, my heart stopped, but then I got up from my seat and went up to the front of the room and said, “Hi! My name is Heart Marie. I moved from Albuquerque, New Mexico and now I live here, Los Angeles, California. I like to draw, write, and take photos! Thank you so much for having me.”

“That was a good introduction, Heart. Now everyone turn to page 10.”

As I walked back to my seat, I could see Valentina, Naomi, Everly, and Harley stare at me. I didn't care and went back to my seat. I turned my textbook to page 10 and started following along.
