Sage explored the barn, daydreaming about the horses she wanted to get and the things they would do. She entered the empty tack room and planned out where she’d place saddle racks, bridle racks, tack trunks, and other things. Once she’d checked out every area in the barn, Sage headed outside to head back to the house.
“Sage, hurry up, we’re going to town for dinner.” Her mother called.
“Coming!” Sage called back.
She hurried to the house but paused before she entered. The sound of a faint whinny caused her to look at the dark woods behind a nearby pasture. A dark colored pony was staring at her from the forest.
