Emma packed all her stuff in her white designer suitcase. While she was packing, she thought how rich she was. She was so grateful to have everything she ever wanted. But she hated being called 'The Rich Kid' at her school. She kept telling them to stop, but they'd shrug their shoulders and walked off.
She got her clothes, shoes, towels, and hats. She zipped up her suitcase and was ready to go. "Mom! Dad! I'm ready!"
"Okay, sweetie!" her mom, Elle said. "Let's get into the car!"
"Okay!" Emma, Elle, and Mike jumped into the car and were on their way.
"Route to Milwaukee, Wisconsin from San Antonio, Texas, calculated," the navigation said in monotone.

Emma watched Netflix on the 20 hour and 33-minute drive. She downloaded many shows: Riverdale, The Fosters, Big Mouth, and Vampire Diaries. When she was bored from watching those shows, she looked out into the window and the sunset. As it gradually got darker, she started tracking the constellations she knew.
When she passed the state line of Missouri, she saw a dark shadowy figure in front of the car. When she blinked it was gone. "Dad?"
"Yes, Emma?"
"Did you see that shadowy figure?"
"What figure?" Emma could tell that her father was puzzled.
"Nevermind... I was probably seeing things."
"Okay then." He shrugged his shoulders and kept on focusing the road. They stopped the car to switch sides so Mike could get some sleep.
"Why not stop at a hotel, mom? It would be easier for all of us to sleep."
"Your auntie wants to see you very soon honey. So, no."
"Okay, just making a suggestion. But why does she want to see me so soon?"
"She just misses you, Emma. She hasn't seen you ever since you were four. She wants to see how much you've grown."
"I miss her too, but I never knew she missed me THAT much." Their conversation ended just like that. Then Emma trailed off to sleep.

When Emma woke up, the sun hit her eyes like laser beams. She covered her eyes and yawned. She woke up just in time to see the 'Welcome to Wisconsin!' sign. She was very excited.
"Just 33 more minutes until Milwaukee!" exclaimed Mike.
"Please be polite to your auntie," pleaded Elle. "It's just going to be you and your cousins over the summer!"
"Of course I will, mom!" But of course, she couldn't keep that promise. Her and her cousins were a gang of pranksters. They would always prank anyone they could find nearby.
Once they hit the city limits, Emma's summer had just begun.
