It has been a day since the witch had been helping melissa settle in and getting to know a little more about Melissa. As for Melissa, she had been enjoying every millisecond with the witch, learning new things and gaining experiences with everything; maybe what happen with the town was the best thing for her? But she still ponders on and on of what had happened that day. even if she tried to remember nothing but blank comes to her, all she remembers is her owner getting angry at her for forgetting to wash the pots and pans as they pulled her to the punishment room, as they threw her into the room, horsewhip in hand as they began to lash her back as it broke and ripped her skin with the harsh strikes hitting harder and harder by the hard with the leather whip, the pain was unbearable as tears flooded her eyes, she squeezed her eyes shut from agonizing pain from every skin tearing compelling hit as the owner yelled at her, degrading her for everything she has done wrong. Threatening that they'll throw her into the dog house, Once they were done she was left there to starve as the stench of rust and blood filled the old, dirty room whilst she bled out from the severe hits on her frail body, she hated every minute of it as her emotion boiled and brew into the certain three anger, sadness, and... murderous intent. It was then as those emotions seethed like a hot boiling pot of water. It was then she started coughing and wheezing as black puffs of smoke started flowing out her mouth like a chimney, her anger boiling over as she felt her skin grow hotter and hotter like she was in raging flames, incoherent whispers filled her ears with a ring as her heartbeat grew faster as if it was bursting into flames, she coughed and wheezed as if her lung was being filled with smoke. It was then the whispers stop as everything went quiet leaving her ears but her body and coughing continue to get hasher. Then a voice had spoken out to her, the same voice of a thousand voices in an inarticulated language "↳Պ૯◎◁❊ᗬ⇒⇤....." it was then everything went black for her just until she woke up to her town up in flames...
As she went back through memory lane, unnoticeably she started heating the water in the bathtub as it bubbled and seethe, the washroom started being filled with thick steam. Once she broke through her daze Melissa's eyes widen as she saw the thick white steam from the boiling hot bath she happen to heat up while she was thinking. She shook her head as she sat back into the tub of water, even if it was hot it felt nice to as she couldn't remember the last time she took a bath or was even allowed too. Her definition of a bath was being stripped naked and being splashed with cold water, Melissa shiver at the thought as she started to lower herself in the brewing bath and bubbles form from her mouth every time she sighs with the bubbles bursting with hot mist. It was then Melissa was forced out of her relaxation circle as hearing the witch's voice call out to her "Melissa! You were in there for quite the while? Are you ok in there?" Melissa then shouted back "I'm fine, I'm just coming out!" she says this whilst jumping out the ferment bath as she grabbed a towel and wrapped it around herself then she walked out the washroom with water steaming off her simmering off her skin becoming steam in which quickly she notices. In a blink in the eye, the water stop simmering and steaming as it just rolled off her dark skin like normal. She walked into the room she woke up in to find clothes on the bed. She's amble over to the bed as she picked up a long, silky, amber dress and a heavy, wooly cloak, she was ecstatic about the new clothes that the kind-hearted witch left for her, a little concern why it was her exact size but she didn't care. She saw the undergarments that fell on the floor when she had picked up her clothing so she quickly grabbed it and slipped it on with her dress and cloak, it was then she was done dressing as she turned to the body mirror that was behind her. She stood there in front of the mirror in awe as she couldn't process what she was seeing, was this her she thought, was this the dirty slave girl from before? Living in a house with nice clothing on her back and warm water for her to bathe in? It felt like her burning down the town was only two years ago, it felt like that torturous life was only but a night terror she had woke up from, she didn't even notice the hot, orange tears falling down her face as it fell to the ground with small hisses leaving a few burnt marks on the wooden floor. She broke out of her trance when the witch had called for her again, she took a deep breath for reassurance as she reminded herself that her old life was no more as she will start her life today. She will change her life for a better one. Feeling as free as a new-birth butterfly fresh out of its cocoon.
Melissa bounced out of her room with a smile on her face, she moseys down the hall. she went into the living room where the witch stood by her cabinets taking out a pouch of gold bits and other currencies. Her orange-gold eyebrow raised a little as the witch turned around and walked over to her "ok little lass, I hope you're ready!" Melissa had confusion written all over her face, "ready for what exactly?" she thought, discombobulated she finally rosed her voice "may I ask what we're ready for?" she asked Helima in which the lady turn with a 'really' expression on her face, then remembers that Melissa was a slave before. in that, her facial expression softens "we're going to the town over yonder" the witch said softly causing Melissa to tense up. The witch chuckled as she turns to Melissa "don't worry little one, we're going to another one not too far" Helima reassured the little girl as she watches the girl's face soften then she sighed in relief, Helima chuckle as she pulled off her winter cloak from her coat hanger. "Let's go before the sky becomes dark, I don't feel like walking in the night. Especially in winter nights when witch hunters are a mist." the witch said as she mumbles the last part of that sentence. And with that, melissa followed the witch out the front door of the house, starting their venture to the town over yonder. Inside, Melissa was a little excited to go to the other town, she didn't even know this town existed, she hopes that this town wasn't befriended with the town she was in before or that will cause a bit of a conundrum for her and the witch. They started walking towards the direction of the town. "Melissa...." the witch said to her in a low tone as Melissa looked up at the with a frighten mix with confusion as the witch didn't look her way "whatever you do, don't fool yourself into the town's beauty. Like the saying goes. 'Tis beauty never fails to bring happiness but the reason behind is sickening" as the witch says this Melissa nodded her head even though she never understood the meaning.
The walk took three hours but it was better than going to the town she destroyed and having to explain herself. They walk towards the borders of the town, a man fully clothed in a metallic suit, it was the first time melissa seen. Fascinated she pulled on the hem of the witch's sleeve as Helima looked down at the jubilant girl who stared at the border knight so she answered "that is a border knight young one. They keep watching for criminals who want to start havoc in the town" the witch finished off as Helima talked to the guards in a peculiar language as the man let them inside. She was confused about the language until she was forced out of her thoughts when they started to walk down the dark tunnel that went into the town. She was awestruck when she saw the large town. It was the most beautiful town she ever saw, her old town was never this big or beautiful but everything halted when she sniffed the air......it smelled like death himself. She couldn't understand the smell but it was the first thought to come to mind to describe it. She felt a tap on her shoulder when she glances up to the witch "welcome to st. wendell's worth, but as we witches call it..the town of a thousand curses." the witch said to the maiden whose eyes widen. It was then the witch's words repeated in her head from an hour ago 'tis beauty never fails to delight, but its the reason behind is sickening'
