Afternoon classes are like... well, to be honest, I'm still only thinking about Connor and if I should open up or not. I kinda already made my mind about it so I should stick to it.
This first day of school is finally ending and I'm walking out of the building. I feel a shiver through my spine when I see Connor giving me a big smile and a hand sign that I return with a quick smile. I jump as fast as I can in my mother's car with a sigh.
"Hey there, I see that you made a friend" She says with a smile full of hope.
"Just an acquaintance" I answer looking away, which she responds rolling her eyes as to say 'yh right, whatever you say'. It bugs me a bit that she can so easily read into my mind, and that makes me a little embarrassed.
"Want pizza this diner as a 'good job for your first day of school' treat ?" I can already feel the smell in my nose and the taste in my mouth just thinking about it. Of course, I nod yes, I mean, who wouldn't want pizza ? I take my phone to order our meal. Just the time to arrive home, clean my stuff up a bit, pour some drinks and put something on the tv, we hear the doorbell and get our pizzas. We sit at the table both hungry, yummy, and we start eating.
"So, how was school today ?" She asks with an inquisitive look.
"Fine for a first day overall" I don't really want to talk about it so I'm giving as little detail as possible hoping she'll drop it, as if that's gonna happen, one can hope...
"Do you have good teachers ?"
"I guess, I find classes boring anyway" I sigh.
"Oh, and who was that boy ? What's his name ?" She asks with a tone full of interest.
"It's just Connor" She looks at me with a wide-eyed look waiting for more details. I sigh, again "We just met at the cafeteria, I was sitting alone and he came to sit in front of me with a bunch of questions and he looked outrageously too interested in making friend with me, I tried to ignore him but eventually I gave in" She chuckles and talks again.
"Oh as if you weren't happy that someone came to you just to make friends, I know you too well honey, you can't hide your true feelings from me, good or bad" I feel my cheeks burning at the embarrassing talking and feign ignorance, focusing on my food which makes her laugh even harder.
The rest of the evening goes on with her teasing me a bit more before finishing the movie on the TV and then going to sleep with warmer hearts and lighter minds.
