The rain began to spray against the small, straw sewn basket, sending it shaking and rattling in all directions. A small mint green bundle sat in the midst of it, wailing as it was thrown against the walls of its only protection. A tall, amber-hued creature stood not too far away, glimmering with pity for the small yet weak child. Its fur was soaked as it approached the basket, keeping a steady pace, for the basket was whisking away against a bush. ''Tch.'' It growled, grasping the handle with its powerful jaws. Lifting the basket out of the ever flash flooded street, the creature ran into the forest, paws thrusting powerfully into the soil with each bound. The small bundle had stopped crying, and the creature had stopped running as well. Except, for a different reason. It had reached what looked to be an abandoned residence before the door swung open to reveal a long-haired female. She let out a sigh before stepping out of the way, letting the creature pad in with its basket.
''What have you swiped now, Saffron?'' The furred creature spun around, placing the bundle down on the sofa. ''More like rescued. Someone dropped this into the street just as it began flash flooding.'' The red long-haired woman just grinned. ''Another stowaway from an irresponsible parent?'' She chuckled. ''That's fine with me, leaves us with another one to keep as it's foster parent.'' Saffron groaned, rolling his hues. ''Oh come on pup, you've dealt with kids before.'' Sighed the woman, before turning back to the small bundle that was now slowly unwrapped. Leaving a small child in its wake.. except, that child had the ears of a Shiba Inu, along with the tail and rounded nose. ''Oh.. this will be harder than I thought-'' Huffed the woman.
