Ralph sighed. He could see where this was going. He had done Cheryl Bombardier wrong, and he knew it. He really liked her, and knew that she liked him back. Ralph felt ashamed for just leaving her hanging the other night, but what could he have done? There weren’t many men with his … condition, and it was just too hard to explain in simple terms. She would have thought he was insane if he tried breaking the news to her any other way.

Well, there was no turning back now.

“I’m a werewolf.”

Ralph watched as Cheryl’s face went blank.

“Surprise!”

Cheryl lowered her phone arm a fraction. “You have got to be kidding me,” she told him.

Ralph shook his head. “Nnnope!” He dropped his arms to his sides. He had been tracking her all day; the scent of her was beginning to make him feel—hungry. Ralph suddenly became aware of the fact that he was bucknaked. Normally this didn’t phase him. Except here was Cheryl, in one of his dens of all places.

Cheryl looked down at his cock and then looked away, blushing. “You’re still an asshole,” she told him, refusing to look at his face.

Ralph felt a sinking feeling in his stomach. “I know I am.” He rubbed his face with his hands, gently tracing his long claws down his cheeks and then his neck. “The fool moon cycle started last night. I didn’t know what to tell you.”

Cheryl shuffled, and Ralph felt a spark of hope. But she was turning so that her back faced him, and he felt his hope sink back down into the ether. “I’m sorry, Cheryl. I fucked up.” He sat down, crossing his legs, and thought about what he could do.

With her so close it was difficult to think straight. By the gods, he wanted to love her so much.

A thought crossed his mind. Oh yeah, I could have just done that! Ralph got back on his hands and knees and slowly began to crawl towards Cheryl. His muscles tensed as his body began to shift back into his wolf form. I really hope she doesn’t throw that phone at me.

It was worth a shot.

He wanted to be with her so bad.

Ralph came up beside her in his wolf form, and whimpered.

Cheryl Bombardier is having a miserable day. On the night before her date had bailed on her, no apologies or rain checks, nothing. To blow off some steam she goes for a hike in the woods, but is forced to take shelter in a small cave due to an unexpected storm on the night of a full moon.

When Ralph Clark, the man who blew her off, mysteriously shows up she is shaken to her core by what she discovers next.
