'No, but it is better for us if I do.' It told me.

     'It is? How so?'

     'Well, for one thing, I get more out of it if they are alive. When they are dead, I only have their flesh, blood, and bone to feed on. But I swallow them alive then I can consume their life force and power along with their bodies.'

     'I see.' I thought about it for a moment before sighing. 'I don't like it but I'll let it slide for now as I don't know when I'll be able to get you another meal.'

      'Then thank you for your leniency.' He said before he went back to sucking on the orb. 

     While he did that, he took a closer look at his other prize. He picked one of the red brown clumps out of the elf's hair and sniffed it. It had a metallic stink to it and something else that the severely repulsed the creature. It flicked into the small waste basket that I had next to my desk in my room.

     'I believe you'll be wanting me to wash this one before eating it. It has been bathing in human blood.' It told me. I cringed at the thought.

     'Do you have a place for me to clean it?' It asked.

     'Uh, yeah, there's a closet in the hallway next to the bathroom. You'll find soap, shampoo, and other things you might need to clean it up. There's also a large sink in the garage if you don't want to use the tub.' I replied to it.

     'Understood.'

     Oddly enough I was thankful that I hadn't bothered to take my clothes off before going to sleep. I didn't liked the idea of going out into the garage with nothing but a pair boxer shorts to protect me from mosquitoes.... and other possible biting things that we might encounter in the garage. I also didn't think the creature would have bothered to get dressed before going out if I hadn't been already.

     The creature sucked on the orb for a while longer until it was small enough to swallow. After it had done so it had us get up from where we had been sitting on my bed. It paused to snag the multi tool from my bed side table and put it in one of my pants' pockets before leaving the room and heading for the hallway I had mentioned. The elf woke up while we were moving and grasped at the hand holding his neck. He mumbled a few swears before speaking up.

     "Where's my partner?" the elf asked as the creature opened the closet and started to rummage through it for the required items.

     "In my stomach. You will be joining them as soon as you have been cleaned." The creature told it while taking out a bottle of my shampoo. The elf grimaced as it found and set the bottle aside on the floor.

     "I take it that there's no chance of you letting me go then, is there?" The elf asked.

"None and if you try to escape, I will break your neck." It replied.
