"Shit. I'd rather be swallowed alive if it's all the same to you." The elf's comment made the creature pause and it stared suspiciously at the elf with a scrub brush in it's hand.
"Care to elaborate on why? And you really should tell me. Otherwise I will snap your neck right here." The creature informed him, making the red elf wince.
"No, I'll be good. My 'boss' has put a curse on me so that when and if I die, my spirit will end up in a gem that's a part of his private collection of 'toys'. Once I'm in that stone, he'll torture me when ever he pleases. He may do that anyways if I came back to him after failing to kill you. He does not tolerate failure well and this was my last chance. If you were to swallow me instead of killing me, I would at least be safe from him for a few more hours." The elf explained to us.
"A curse? Hmm, you maybe in luck tonight then. I am a Niflheim Wraith and we are able to eat magic. If I eat you while you are still alive, then there is a chance curse will be broken and digested before you are." It told him.
"Haz-zah." the elf said bitterly.
The creature ignored the elf's sarcastic reply and finished collecting what was needed. He then gathered the items up with one arm before heading further down the hallway. He by passed the bathroom for the stairs at the end of the hallway. He went down them to the ground floor of my home before making his way to the door that connected the garage with the rest of the house. He unlocked the door prior to opening it and turned to the right after he went through it.
There, not far from the door was the large white plastic wash basin with legs that I had mentioned, set up against the wall. There was a faucet and drain connected to it and basket full of dog grooming supplies under it. The creature dumped the elf and the bath items into the basin before taking off my shirt and set it aside along with the towel he had also taken from the closet. He then turned on the water and took out my multi-tool. He pulled out the pair of small scissors that were apart of it and started to cut off the elf's hair with them.
While the creature cut the elf's hair, the elf started to scrub itself with the brush and soap. The water started to run red and the air was filled with the smell of melons from the scented soap and a metallic one from the dark red stuff going down the drain. As he washed himself, his skin began lighten into a brighter shade of red. A series of black lines and runes were revealed as his skin was cleaned and I assumed they were a part of the curse the elf had mentioned earlier.
After a while, the creature finished cutting the elf's hair and cleaned my multi-tool it had used. He collapsed it back down and put it a way while it waited for the elf to get finished with the brush so the creature could use it to clean the elf's back. I felt something shift inside of us and break during the wait and it was followed by a warmth that spread throughout my body. I could feel myself relaxing as it spread and I began to feel drowsy.
"It seems your partner has expired now." It told the elf.
"Is that so? Lucky him. I guess that means there will be more room for me in there then." The elf replied, handing the brush to us.
"Indeed."
