I floated into a window seat with frosty and fries in hand. It is quite silent in this place. That is until I look up to see a boy. His hair was wavy but not too curly. Whoever this boy is, he is kind of cute looking. A thing that I notice he is rather thin and small.
"e-excuse me, you s-seem new, I thought I could try and talk to y-you'' dear God, he is shy. Maybe being in this town won't be so bad after all. I had to talk to him or else, I would regret things even more.
"O-oh, yeah. That's fine. The name is Simon. Is it that oblivious that I'm new?" I couldn't help but give a little laugh.
As he sat down and he brought up his name, "I'm Daniel but, you can call me Danny."
Danny? That is a cute nickname but, I should only call him by his actual name for now. Either way, both of the names are cute for him. Shockingly, before I knew it, time flew by us. We talked a lot about each other for two strangers. Okay, I probably just wanted to get to know him. I lied, I wanted to see if he is gay but no luck yet. If God exists, then please at least let him be Bisexual or even Pansexual. We also talked about our birthdays. He is the same age as me, 17. Not only that, His birthday is a day after mine. There are also a lot of similarities and differences. I like Rock, and he likes classical/emo. Im a city boy, and he is a small-town guy. I did find out that he is also an only child and that he doesn't have friends. There many other things that we brought up. We would have continued talking, but my mom ended up calling to tell me to come home.
I didn't want to go "Sorry but, I have to get going, I can give you my number, and we can talk or meet up later."
You can tell that Daniel was ecstatic at the very moment I ask to meet up later. It would be marvelous if he deemed that I was cute. I grabbed a napkin and a pen out of my pocket and, I wrote down my number. I signed my full name. Daniel did the same as well.
I looked at the napkin, "xxx-xxx-xxxx Daniel Woods- just call me Danny."
I felt a ton of butterflies had flown into my stomach. Who would think that I pretty much got someone's number? I couldn't help but smile. Saying our temporary goodbyes, I went to hop in my car and head home. Before I started the car, I sat my phone in those magnate holders, and message Danny.
Simmy- "If this number is correct, then is this Daniel? It's Simon. Simon Michaelson."
I waited for a minute or two for a response.
Simmy- "please, be the correct number."
Then I get the message that almost killed me with happiness.
Daniel then sent me a message. "Sorry, I was sidetracked. Yeah, This is the correct number.''
I smiled and just sent a thumbs-up emoji. I then took off on my way home.
Walking fast, I hurry to my room, hoping that I will not come in contact with my mom. Little did I know, she was hot on my trail. I knew she was upset because of how she is when I want to do my things. It's not like that I know anyone in this town or do stuff, such as drugs. If I give her a bit of a pass is that she is young for a mother. The same goes for my dad.
"Where have you been! It's been almost 5 hours since you left, this house. I thought something had happened or, you could have got lost." she was in distraught. I would feel sorry for her but, I'm pretty much grown. My mother acts like I am a reckless twelve-year-old that smokes.
Nothing could stop her from acting like this, "Gracey." Dad called in a soft tone for mom because he knew that I was dependable and knew what I was doing. He always seems to get me or recognize my meaning.
The face on my mom was in complete sadness. "but Harvey." one thing was for sure was the fact that my mom's voice could have broken everyone's heart. She is doing what she can for formerly being a teenage parent. "Mom, you exaggerate all the time. Let me be a teenager. Allow me to go out and do stuff. I might be lucky enough to find my future spouse." I couldn't help but soften my face. I know that she doesn't mean to be a strict mom or do anything wrong. Silence filled the house. She knew what I intended, and she is still trying to figure out how to be a mother to her only child.
"go and finish setting up your things, dinner will be don soon." the amount of sadness that sat in my mom's tone could have cut hearts if millions.
Indeed, I was just going to set up my mattress, clothing items, and a few extra stuff. Almost all of my things were going to wait until I turn 18 when I move out of the house. I was going to hit the ground running, and no one was going to stop me. Not only to get away from my mom but the fact that I went from having a better chance at having a boyfriend to freaking never. Yet, that boy I met seems pretty cute, but knowing my luck, Daniel would be straight or like girls.
Walking to my room, I laid down on my bed and took out my phone from my pocket to message Danny. It appeared that we could get along, other than the fact that we talked for hours. Would it be weird to tell him that I think he is cute? It is probably early to inform him. I couldn't help but think of him as I stare at his contact, that is until I get a call from him.
It like I was imaging this, but I wasn't. I hurriedly answered the call. "Hello?" I sounded so unsure. Like, when does a cute person that you find attractive ends up calling you?
"Sorry to bother you, but I couldn't help want to talk to you. I think that you are someone that I can get along with." His voice itself was cute. I wish I could tell him that.
I couldn't help but smile, "I was thinking the same about you. Man, Was I lucky to meet someone like you to befriend." Okay, My flirt game is not on point, but okay. God, I swear if he turns out straight and I use all my best one-liners, I'll be mad.
