I felt my whole face turn red. “What are you saying? We are both males and my little sister loves you so much.”
“She loves me only because I was the only man, she was able to play with. Now look at her. She hasn’t asked me to dance once and neither one of us care.”
I looked back inside to see my sister still on the dance floor with a man she had danced with towards the start of the dance. “Prince, would you please have this dance with me.” I turned back around to see Johnathan bowing to me.
“I don’t know the female parts.” I nervously replied.
“Don’t lie. You practiced both, so you could teach your sister and she dance almost perfectly.” He continued to hold out his hand out towards me and I finally grabbed it. The music was slow, and we began to dance under the stars. I closed my eye and remembered in the past dancing with Brian at a school dance. We both were amazing dancers and we were in a few completions with one another.
“Prince.” I opened my eyes and turned to see Edward and Ally standing off to the side. I let go of Johnathan and turned towards them.
“What is it?” I asked as I tried to compose myself.
“Your father is about to give a speech.” Edward replied as he glanced over at Johnathan.
“I see.” I turned towards Johnathan, “You have gotten better since we were children.”
Johnathan seemed to want to reply, but I noticed him stop himself. He turned and leaned on the railing again.
I nodded and walked past Edward and Ally. Ally seemed to be still staring at Johnathan and turned towards me, “So, how was your dance?”
I ignored her and walked back inside. I glanced around and didn’t see my father.
“Where is he?” I asked as I turned towards Edward.
“Who?”
“Don’t play dumb. You just told me my father was about to speak.”
“It seems I was mistaken.” He replied and I glared at him for a moment.
“What is going on? Why did you need to bother us then?”
“Because I don’t want to see you killed by your father. If anyone else would have seen that, you both would be the talk of the party. With him engaged to your sister, now is not time to draw any attention. Your sister is already doing such a great job with that. She has been dancing with a man for a few dances, that is not Johnathan. You think that is okay? Think! You are already under hot water due to the fact you refuse to dance with any females. Ally is the only one you have ever danced with and she’s one you cannot marry.”
“Even if I would make a wonderful queen.” She smiled.
“The way he looked at you. No man should do that to another.”
“It wasn’t anything more than friends dancing with one another. If you remember, we have danced together before when we were younger.” I replied.
Edward continued to stare at me for a few moments till finally he walked past me, “Ally, you stay and make sure the Prince stays safe. I have something I must go do.”
“Yes.” Ally nodded and I watched as Edward walked out of the ballroom. “Don’t be mad at him. He just wants what is best for you. I mean without you, there is no us. Your life, is actually a few different lives you have brought back.”
“I think I’m done with the party tonight. I am going to go back to my room. Feel free to stay and enjoy.” I began to walk towards the exit of the ballroom and was stopped by an older woman. I noticed I had seen her around before and bowed to her.
“No need to be formal around me. I wanted to introduce you to my daughter. She has been overseas most her life and we are proud to introduce her to the young Prince.” I looked next to her to see a young female near her. She looked to have a nice tan and her skin was flawless. Her eyes seemed to be an emerald green and she seemed to be around the height of my sister. My sister was a few feet short then I was. I was actually as tall as I was in my previous life. I stood about 5’9. I looked and noticed she seemed nervous to look up at me. I took her hand and calmly kissed it.
“It is a pleasure to meet you.” She glanced up and looked nervously at me.
“Hello. My name is Selena. It is a pleasure to meet you.”
