As leaning up I could see a very interesting look to Lady Star’s eyes. If looks 

could kill then I would be dead right next to Noah. He took my hand in his as

 giving Lady Star a warning glance.

 “Please forgive me Noah. She looks to be a very lovely young lady.”

 Yeah right you just want me gone, I want to be gone too.

 “Please don’t keep trying to court me any longer. I am very serious about

 Miss Lapis.”

 In my head I was shaking my head screaming at Noah. On the outside I 

smiled sweetly forcing myself to blush as placing my face into his arm. Noah 

pulls my face up kissing my lips tenderly. Lady Star almost dropped her wine 

glass.

 “I see you two young ones don’t hide your affection for one another.

 Remember this is a party so do keep the other guest in mind.”

 Noah pulls back as I really have a blush this time, there was no need to fake 

it. 

“Forgive me Lady Star. I will do as you asked.”

 Lady Star gives a faint smile walking off, slightly scoughing under her breathe.

He pulls me along as walking to another group of people to mingle. They all

 seem excited to meet me. I held onto Noah a little tighter as one of the men

 went to touch my arm. Noticing how I felt he pulled me into his arms placing

 his head on my shoulder. 

“Sorry but she is solely my girl. No one else is allowed to touch her.”

 I felt relieved yet also afraid that he held me like a real lover. I had to push all

 my insecurities to the back of my mind to pull this play off. The man looked a

 little down from his words.

 “Come now Mister Black you’ve never been that serious about anyone.

 How did Miss Lapis manage to snag you so deeply I wonder?”

 Oh this should be interesting to see what he would reply. Noah smiled

 kissing my neck slightly looking back to the man. 

“She hooked me with her aggressive personality. Her kind eyes that seem

 to show even her worst enemy some sort of compassion. She is smart,

 strong, and knows how to manage her money well. I think there is so many

 more things to be said but will not.”

 Wow, I had to hand it to him. This man new how to come up with some 

amazing lies on the spot.

The people in the group all looked to me with shock. Well now they looked to

 me like I was some miracle. Mentally I had to laugh if they knew what he did 

for a living and what I am. They would probably freak the hell out. Also he 

would probably shoot this place up trying to kill my sorry ass. 

“If you would all excuse Noah and I please. I wish to have some private

 time with my boyfriend.”

 The women started to blush as the men looked slightly amused. You people

 were assholes to think I wanted to screw him in this place. Noah gives a 

small bow as I take his hand leading him away. Once we were alone I let go of

 him taking a breathe of fresh air outside.

 “What the hell Noah. Are you sure you’re not a professional liar?” 

He laughs at me leaning against the railing pulling out a pack of cigarettes. 

“What you didn’t like all my lovely compliments my dearest one.” 

I roll my eyes leaning against the railing as well. I quickly steal a cigarette

 from him as he raised a brow.

 “What you are the only one allowed to smoke? Tough luck Mister Black I 

am a smoker as well.” 

He laughs again as leaning over to light my cigarette with his own. We both

 just relaxed some as smoking. It didn’t last long as Lady Star came out on the

 balcony to get us.

We were guided to a man who looked about forty at most. He was tall with 

silver hair that went to his mid-back. He had it pulled into a tight ponytail. 

“Mister Black, Miss Lapis this is my dear friend John Herman.”

 I smiled bowing to him as did Noah.

 “It is a pleasure to meet you both.”

 As I stood up I froze. That was the voice I’d heard the night I left home. What

 the hell was I supposed to do now? I couldn’t stop playing the part Noah

 brought me for. Noah squeezed my hand bring me back to reality. 

“I’m sorry Mister Herman but it seems my girlfriend isn’t feeling too good.

 I think we will leave the party a little early.”

 I didn’t hear a word Noah spoke as watching John. He gave a smile taking my

 hand kissing it softly. Out loud he spoke to Noah and Lady Star.

 “It is alright if the young lady doesn’t feel well.”

 In my head I could hear his voice at the same time.

 “I finally get to see you in person my dear. My name is Devon. I’ll be

 coming for you soon enough. Remember you are mine and mine alone. 

Don’t think this hunter can protect you from me.”

 I started to tremble as John pulled his hand away from my own.

Noah pushes him back slightly as picking me up. I just put my face into his

 neck hiding. Why? I couldn’t hide my fear for this man. It scared me less to 

be in Noah’s arms then to see Devon. He walked me out to the car placing me

 down. Noah glanced back to the mansion with a questionable expression. As 

he got into the car I was still curled up into a ball. Tears had started to fall 

from my eyes. His arms wrapped around my body just pulling me into his 

chest. 

“Calm down...it is alright Zoe.”

 I looked up not able to hide the fear on my face shaking my head. 

“No it is not okay. He...he...I’m sorry. Can you please just take me back 

now?” 

Noah wanted to know what scared Zoe so badly that she actually would show

 this side of herself to him. He caressed my hair as I just sat on his lap. My 

head in his chest. In a whisper I spoke.

 “That man is a true monster.”
