Minds A Mess

Who is he?

Who is he?

Nov 25, 2019

Alex:

I finally got to my class with two minutes left to spare. Of course, my teacher was already there so I greeted him and was asked to introduce myself.

I nodded, truth is.. I don’t have a clue on what to do.. What should I do if I mess up? Okay, I’ll just do something simple.

“Uh, hi.. My name’s Alex Terner. I originally come from, uh.. Russia and moved here a short while ago, but I’ll be staying here at this school for the time being. That’s pretty much all I really need to say..”

I looked back at my teacher to signal that I was finished, I was told where to sit and walked there as quick as I could. I hate the thought of people just staring at me.. It’s just so scary.. When I sat down I noticed the guy in front of me, now that I think about it, when I was talking he wasn’t even bothered with the thought of looking at me, for some reason I feel kind of relieved. At least there’s one person who didn’t care, it makes me feel a little less nervous.

But that wasn’t the first reason as to why I noticed him, now that, was mostly because of his hair. It was long, wavy, pitch black and tied in a low ponytail. I tried really hard to resist the temptation of touching it, I’m not sure why but it looks so soft! I didn’t do it though, the last thing I want to do is get somebody angry on my first day here.

Lunch has finally begun, I never realised how hungry I was till now. I was in such a rush this morning that I totally forgot to eat breakfast. But I hope the food in the cafeteria isn’t as bad as my last school. I have no doubt that it was made by the devil..

I scanned the cafeteria when I got there, hoping to find an empty table to avoid being bothered by anyone. Of course I failed to find one. I was going to eat outside but then I saw someone waving at me. It was this girl with big curly hair, maybe an orangish colour? It makes her stand out a lot more than other people. I think I remember seeing her in class.

I hesitated before walking over there. Does a person really want to talk to me? What if it’s a trick? It’s too late to turn back though. Everybody at the table looked at me the minute I sat down.

“Sup, the names Anna. You’re Alex right? Well, it’s nice to meet ya!”

“Uh, yeah.. You too I guess.” I do admit that I said it pretty awkwardly, I’m really not used to talking to people.

After everyone introduced themselves to me they all started asking me questions, I was a bit uncomfortable when I answered them but I didn’t want to be rude by saying that. I saw that one of the guys sitting close to me had black hair, it immediately reminded me of the guy that sits in front of me in class. It wouldn’t hurt to ask, would it?

“Hey uh, Anna. Who’s the guy that sits in front of me in class? You know.. The one with the long black hair?”

“Ohhh, you mean Noah? Well, that’s the one and only Noah Flores! He’s the top student in the grade and-”

“And is an absolute dick. Don’t talk to him, it’s a waste of time. He doesn’t care about anybody in this school and literally everybody hates him.” Said this one girl with short brown hair, she looked annoyed while saying that.

“Hm, I guess that is true Evelyn, but the only reason that you hate him is because he rejected you by telling you he was gay! But what’s even better is that he didn’t even know who you were! HA, hearing that was one of the funniest days of my life!”

“Oh shut up, that was years ago. But honestly, just stay away from him, he couldn’t care less about the world outside of his safety bubble. So just ignore him and you’ll be fine.”

The bell rang a few seconds after that. I didn’t know what to think. Was what she said true? Plus, there’s nothing wrong with being gay.. It’s not like I’m much different..

I snapped out of my thoughts once I realised that I would be late again, then started making my way to class.

Noah is a simple seventeen year old boy, though he holds a secret that only himself and a very small amount of people are aware of.

For some odd reason, ever since birth, Noah has never had the ability to see a face. He doesn’t know why, no one else knows why, it’s just always been that way.

Until he meets Alex.

Alex is also a simple seventeen year old boy. Though he struggles a lot with acceptance, past memories, confidence and trust.

Meeting Noah changes that for some reason.

Noah can for some unexplained reason see Alex, this complete stranger's face. And Alex, can for some reason feel completely comfortable and seem to trust Noah a lot.

Will these two boys both come to terms with their feelings or choose to not accept it?
