The tomb was a load of decadence. Thick walls of marble, wooden and metallic ornaments, beautiful glass panes. If it hadn't been so terrifying, I would have liked to turn around and watch the magnificent building.
Bob launched a firestorm against the sphere of light. It didn't do anything harmful to it, but that snapped me out of my numbness. I reached for the giant, reinforced door, but there was no way to open it.
Kamurea sprinted over to press against the door, but to no avail. Vi and Bob stood guard, while the light dimished. We were trapped.
After another minute, the magic process stopped. The building was in fact a tomb or a shrine - Bob assumed that at least. In the center was a big stairway downwards into darkness.
The windows were made of colored glass and golden ornaments. They showed scenes from an almost forgotten age - the era of dracuriers, three meter big, bipedal lizards with wings. These entities ruled the mortal world not long ago - from my perspektive. Mortals easily forget history when it is just thousand circulations (or years) ago, due to their short life span.
The dracuriers held all over entities enslaved - mostly the five mortal species: humans, albs, dwarves, gnomes and vargs, but some others too. After some time, the slaves became free as the dracuriers vanished from the mortal world. I did not know at that time what had happened, but that was my knowledge at that point of our adventures.
The dracuriers were excellent magic users, builders, scientists and so much more. This tomb in the middle of nowhere was an example of their abilitys.
But for now, we were trapped. And just the stairway downwards seemed to be the only way out.
Shivers ran down my spine.
