"I think I'll be alright staying here." I told him.
"Very well then. I will see you when I come back." He said before leaving.
I gave the creature a mental prod after Yang left. It had been quiet ever since it with drew and I was getting mental sleepy vibes from it. I felt it stir sluggishly and it's hunger started to nag at me at the back of my when it reached out to me. It's condition worried me so I voiced my concerns to it.
'Are you okay?' I asked it. 'You seem... off.'
'i.. am.. aware.' It replied with great effort. 'i.. have.. fin.. ished.. digesting.. the meal... from.am.. trying... to.. conserve.. my energy... so... i... do not.... resort..to...feeding... on you.'
"What!?" I exclaimed.
I could feel panic start to grip me and it was accompanied by cold and chills. I began to shiver and my vision narrowed as the creature tried and failed to calm me down. There was a sudden pain in my hands next and my heart beat roared in my ears. I fell off the padded table when I tried to look at my hands to what was causing them to hurt. I caught a glimpse of bloody wounds and scratches before passing out.
While I was unconscious, I had one of my most common nightmares but it's ending was a little more different than usual. I was being chased through a shadowy forest, like usual, by creature with too many arms, eyes, and teeth. No matter how hard I tried to hide or fast I ran, it would always catch me and I would wake up. This time however, another shadowy creature with a pair of glowing yellow eyes, rose from around me to challenge it. The two of the them fought to the death with the victor being the new one. It feasted upon the loser's remains and gobbled it up, leaving nothing of it behind.
I thought it was was friendly or least a kind of ally but I realized how wrong I was when it came over to me. I found myself staring into its wide open jaws a moment before it scooped me up with them. I disappeared down its throat as it gulped me down whole and I fell into a cave after it had apparently eaten me.
The cave was cold and dark and the rock was hard and slippery with some unknown slime. The only source of light came from somewhere to my left. I sat up and rubbed the back of my dream self's head where it had hit the stone floor of the cave. I looked towards the source of the light while I was rubbing my head and saw a thin stream of a glowing white fluid. I got up and followed it to its source.
It didn't take me long and I soon learned that it was coming a wounded human-like creature. It was curled up with its back against the cave's wall and had a thin black cloth draped over it. Its breathing was labored and the cloth had silvery glowing stains from what I presumed was its blood. I knelt down and reached out to it but it cringed away from my hand.
"Please....don't....no...more... please..." it pleaded in a weak but familiar voice.
"No?" I asked, confused. "No what?"
