I climb out of the pool, glaring face-to-face with Jason but it's kinda hard since he's a couple of inches taller.
"Had a nice swim luv?" He asks, a smirk on his face. I could literally slap that smirk right off his face.
"You dickhead, you pushed me," I say breathlessly, my body shaking from the cold water.
He just looks amused, as he takes a step closer to me. "Language luv," he says, his voice almost a whisper, "There's children here. I'm sure they do not need to hear you swearing."
"I could kill you right here if I want," I say harshly but my eyes are currently admiring his face. His green eyes. Eyes the colour of deep forest pools, the colour of springtime ferns, the colour of freshly cut grass, the colour of pond scum, the colour of autumn carrot tops, the green of the first spring leaves on a plum tree, sea green, mossy green flecked with the colour of pecan shell, as green as summertime water trough.
"Chill, babe. It was just a dare," Kent says, walking up to Jason's side. I raise an eyebrow at the name Kent calls me.
"Don't 'babe' me. You guys are so immature," I comment, rolling my eyes.
"Guys, we gotta go," Someone calls out. I look over their shoulders and see it was Mason. All the boys turn to leave. Except Jason. I'm surprised the other boys even listened. "Jason, let's go," Kent says.
"Meet you at the car," He replies. Kent shrugs his shoulders, and jogs over to their car.
Then, he turns to me. "So, what's your name?"
"Why should I tell you that?"
"Because I asked," he simply replies, shrugging his shoulders.
"Lexi," I finally say.
"Lexi what?" He asks, amusement flickering in his eyes.
I raise an eyebrow at him. "Lexi Rodriguez."
"Well, Lexi, you should probably get a towel. You look cold," he says.
Son of a bitch.
He turns to leave. "See you on Monday," he calls out, and jogs to the car. I really hope he slips and cracks his head open but does not damage his beautiful face.
Next morning
"Come on, Lexi. I swear to God, if you don't get up in five minutes, you'll walk your lazy ass to school yourself!"
Love you too, Isabella. I struggle out of bed and stare out the window for a while. Clouds move in the morning sky, kissed into brilliant white by the sun. They move south toward the ocean, together yet independent. Gaps widen and close, one slides right under another and always they are changing shape. I let out a yawn and head to the bathroom where I do my morning routine. I head to my closet to pick an outfit.
Just a simple outfit. I decide on a white hoodie with a picture of SpongeBob and black leggings.
After jogging down the stairs, I pass through the kitchen and grab a breakfast bar. "Don't you want a pancake?" My mom asks, looking up from her book as she sits on a chair. I shake my head as a reply, grab my bag and sneakers, and head out the door. Who cares if I get my favourite, black, fluffy socks dirty, am I right or am I right? I hop into my sister's car and tie my shoes on.
"You are slow as a freaking snail," Isabella scoffs. "Just drive, Chica," I say. And we make our way to Riverdale High.

I walk through the hallways, until I finally find my locker. And waiting for me, is Katrina. Katrina Adams has been my best friend since 6th grade. We had sleepovers, birthday parties, days at the mall, and all that other stuff you normally do with your best friend.
"Hey Chica," she greets me. "So, did you see any cute guys at the pool?" I glance at her, and she's wiggling her eyebrows. Oh no! If I tell her then she is gonna make fun of me for life.
"Nope," I say, turning to my locker and putting in my combination.
"Oh, okay. My snake died last week."
My locker opens with a click. "You don't have a snake. You don't even have pet.," I say, giving her a confused look. She is fucking scared of snakes and all pets.
"I know. Just like how you probably saw some cute-ass guys yesterday." I raise my eyebrows at her.
"You're playing with that again." She gestures to my chest, and I look down to see my fingers were playing with my necklace. It's something I do when I'm frightened, scared or nervous. Or when I'm lying. She caught me. This girl knows me too well. The necklace was given to me by my dad before he died. I really miss him
"Oops," I say with a shrug. I stare at the details of the necklace. It's a beautiful silver locket, with a picture of my dad and sister inside.
"So, who was it?" She asks, looking me in the eyes.
I shrug my shoulders. "Some immature idiots," I reply casually.
"Hot immature idiots?" She asks, as her eyebrows shot up. Then, she clears her throat. "Quick question: Do they go to our school?"
Slowly, I nod my head. A smile on her face slowly widens. "Who?" Just then, a familiar voice starts laughing across the hall. I glance over and see all four of the boys. Jason is the one who really catches my attention, with his tall muscular frame.
"Them," I say, keeping my eyes on them. Katrina follows my eyes and sees them as well.
"Mamma Mia," she whispers. I mentally laugh at her comment.
"That scumbag pushed me in the pool," I exclaimed, keeping my eyes on Jason the whole time. She quickly looks at me.
"Excuse me?"I give her an embarrassed smile, not really knowing what to do. "Jason pushed me in the pool."Then, she glares at me. "You lucky bitch."
I roll my eyes and gently push her shoulder.
~
"Excuse me, but can I have sweetcorn with this?" Katrina asks, as she stands in front of me in the lunch line. The lunch staff dump sweetcorn on her tray, and they turn to me.
"What do you want, sweetie?" A lady asks in a bored tone. Damn Lady. Who got your knickers in a twist?
"Pizza."
She takes a slice and places it on my tray. "Anything else?" She asks.
"No, thank you," I reply, as I grab fruit and milk. I emerge from the line and head toward my little table.
"So, did you do your history homework?" Katrina asks me, as I take my seat.
"Yep," I reply. "Do you need it?"
"Just on a few questions," she says, smile on her face.
As I hand her my notebook, someone walks up to our table. "Can I have your pizza?"
I look up, and green eyes greet me. Jason Fucking DeSouza.
"My pizza?" I ask slowly. If he thinks I'm giving him my pizza, then he is crazy.
He nods his head.
"Uh no. That's okay," I say, looking back down at my pizza. With an amused look, he takes a seat beside me. "But friends share." Nice to know.
"Sorry to disappoint you, but we're not friends Hun," I say, taking a bite of my chicken pizza.
"Fine then," he says, getting up. "By the way, I like your shirt."
Then, he turns and walks off to his table. Jerk, I don't care if you like my shirt. I turn to Katrina, who' is practically drooling like a fountain, over Jason.
"Hey, don't get any of your spit on my notebook."
She quickly turns to me. "Do you like him?"
Like him? Do I like him? Well he is hot. But he is a player. But his sexy jawline and those abs.
"That trash? Hell no," I tell her, taking another bite of my pizza.
"Sure, you don't.," she says, a smirk on her face.
"Oh my gosh, shut up," I say, punching her arm lightly. She laughs softly and continues to eat her food. I love my best friend. She is probably the best friend you could ask for. Caring. Funny. Sweet.

The school bells ring, and the once empty hallway is now filled with students.
I'm making my way to my locker, when I feel someone tap my shoulder.
I turn around to see that it's my sister. "Lexi, I can't drive you back home."
"What, why?"
"I have a study group with my girls, and we're planning to sleep at Anastasia's house," she explains.
"But who's gonna drive me home?" I ask.
She shrugs her shoulders. "Figure that out yourself." Then, she turns around and walks away. Wow okay. Thank Sis. After grabbing my stuff, I head outside. My eyes search for Katrina. I could ask her mom to give me a ride home. I'm about to pull out my phone and ask Katrina where she is but an annoying voice says:
"Need a ride, SpongeBob?"
SpongeBob? I turn around to see Jason, smirking at me.
"Yh," I mumble.
He sticks his hands in his pockets. "We live opposite each other, so I guess I could give you a ride. I'm feeling very nice today."
"A ride from you? No thanks. I would rather go camp with lions than ride with you." I scoff.
"Oh, so you already have a ride?" He asks, amusement flickering in those green eyes of his. I'm not gonna lie, but this boy has some stunning eyes.
I sigh. "Just get me home. Please."
He walks off and I follow. And we stop. In front of a motorcycle.
"Nope. Nope," I say, walking away. Jason grabs my hand and pulls me back. "Afraid of motorcycles, SpongeBob?" He asks teasingly.
"Don't call me that," I snap. He laughs softly and hands me his helmet. I just stare at it while biting my lip, as if I'm waiting for it to pounce on me.
"Do still want a ride or not?" He asks, a bit impatiently.
I roll my eyes, as I grab the helmet from his hands and fasten it on my head. Jason hops on, and I hesitate before struggling to do the same. Awkwardly, I wrap my arms around his waist. Damn. I can feel his six-pack. And we're off. The scenery around me goes by so quickly. The cold crisp air blew through me, rustling my hair and chilling my bones. I can feel the wind. My arms tighten around his waist. I'm not dying today. We finally arrive in front of my house.
"This is your house right?" He asks, as I get off. I nod in reply and take his helmet off my head. "Thanks," I mumble, handing it back to him.
"No problem," he says. "I never knew we lived this close to each other."
"Really, where's your house?"
"Right there," he replies, pointing to a house a couple of doors away from mine
"Oh," is my only reply.
"Yep," he sighs turning back to me. "You should visit me some time," he says with a smirk on his face. I punch his arm lightly. "You wish mate."
"Anyway. Bye, SpongeBob," and he walks the rest of the way back to his house.
"Bye, Jason" I say, as I walk into my house.
