That rumor broke me. And I didn't know what it was even about at first.
We were at recess and people just started coming to me and saying nasty comments and everyone was looking. I was confused and didn't understand the situation I started to have a panic attack(even though I didn't know it was that at the time.-.) and started to get anxious.
I went to my 'friend' to ask her about it, but she betrayed me and tugged me from behind, holding me in a firm gripped bear-hug. I tried to get away, but I was too weak. Then she called over her other friends, that were the gossipers the school, and since they were in a different class I didn't recognize them.
My 'friend' kept me there as the girls explained.
Girl 1: "Since you said that, we are going to chase you."
Girl 2: "We are going to give you ten seconds to run."
Girl 3: "You better run fast or we are going to catch you."
Girl 4: "You ready?"
They smirked, waiting for my answer.
"W-wait why, what's going on?" I replied, about to cry.
Girl 1, 2, 3, or 4: "Let her go."
I ran as fast as I could I was hiding behind multiple people to navigate them a few times. This went on for about a minute or two before the teacher blew her whistle and it was time to line up.
I didn't know what was happening, I didn't tell the teacher, I didn't tell anyone at that time. I kept it to myself, which is exactly what I shouldn't have done.
We went inside and my 'kinda friend', who was by the way transferring to another school tomorrow so it was his last day there, sat next to me, so I asked him about what was going on.
'Kinda Friend Transferring Boy': "You called (The rumor spreader) a n*gga(bad 'n' word). Why'd you do that? And it's my last day here. I can't believe this."
That wasn't true, of course, but I couldn't understand. For everything I knew me and the rumor spreader were pretty decent friends. I guess she was always attention seeking, but I knew she would never spread a lie like that. Or would she.?
I was broken, even more than I already was and Charlotte just happened to not be there that day, so unfortunate.
But 'little-self-kept-goody-two-shoes' me, didn't tell anyone about it until I got home and told my Mom. My Mom was very concerned and called the school principal immediately. We then went back to the school and talked with the principal.
The principal said that I shouldn't have waited to tell my Mom after school, and that I should have told my teacher or an authority figure. I understood, but she didn't, even though SHE was the source of the problem because SHE NEVER DID CRAP.
But the 'friend' that betrayed me and held be in a bear-hug lied and said she was just "hugging me", even though she obviously wasn't. She ended up getting suspended for two days, and the other girls including the rumor spreader and her other little group of gossipers got write-ups or something.
Then it was soon summer break and I was finally freed from all the drama and gossiping and torture.
