Greer's Adventures: RomaMates

Shower Thoughts

Shower Thoughts

Dec 16, 2019

Greer held the jacket on her body. She was so flustered and frustrated she had forgotten to take it off and give it back to him. She hugged it around herself a bit. She was surprised how nicely it fit around her. Not to mention how it smelled. These kinds of jackets tended to pick up the scent of the owner if worn a lot… he wore very nice cologne.

Greer unlocked the door and quickly went inside, heading to the bathroom. Blake and Dewi were both there watching a movie. Dewi looked up. “Hey Princess, how many compliments d…. What happened?!”

Blake turned to see different colored streaks going down her face and clothes. She looked sticky and still wet. He got up to get her a towel. “The Marco’s shopping aisle for soda fell with a mighty kick from a child ninja.”

Blake handed her the towel as she started into the bathroom. “As least you’re as sweet on the outside as you are inside?”

Greer called back out as she closed the door. “That’s what HE said.”

Past the initial shock of his dear baby sister being covered in soda and her hair matted down, Dewi finally noticed something rather important. He went over to the door and grinned. “Hey Greer that blouse will need to get washed quick before it’s ruined. Hand me your things.”

She did and the jacket didn’t come out. He cleared his throat. “What about that new lovely jacket those soda bottles dumped on you?”

There was a pause. “I um… need to give it back.” Blake was about a step behind but paused. The event was completely ridiculous so…

“...Did you meet Officer Cutie there?”

“I was going to call him…. And he called me instead.” She sounded happy and embarrassed at the same time.

Dewi just sighed. “You didn’t take any meds today, did you?”

Greer called out, trying to get the soda out of her hair. In the hot sun it had glued her hair to her scalp quite well. “No, but I wasn’t meeting with anyone today! I figured when it tripped it’d just be small stuff. Like normal. And I’m trying to learn control with the small stuff.”

Dewi shook his head as Blake helped get the clothes going. “Alright so what happened then? Call ended and things went nuts?”

She paused. “Well… we… just happen to be at the same store… different areas. I was thinking it’d be nice to see his reaction and then he came around the corner, and the kid kicked and… well yeah.”

Dewi nodded. “So, the jacket was for…?”

Greer shrugged, forgetting Dewi still couldn’t see her. “He felt bad? He apparently worries about me already, one of his buddies told him about the tennis balls and he tried to check on me at the hospital and I had already left. But I knew he saw my eyes glowing So I just … kinda… told him?”

Blake turned, surprised. “You told him? Just like that in public?!”

Dewi was a bit more worried the guy just tried to show up at the hospital.

Greer shouted through the door. “Well, I had already admitted to having a hot mess of a week and had been arrested so he knew I was powered anyway, I just wanted it done. And then he asked me on a date to the aquarium.” Before Dewi could say a word, she called out, “And I’ll take the damn meds! So chill. I don’t need a live action take on Sharknado or something.”

Blake smiled a bit, mouthing “She’ll be fine” to Dewi. Dewi leaned against the wall, looking at the bathroom door. “Well, where is he picking you up?”

Greer hesitated. “Well… here, I guess? We kinda walked home- Blake please don’t panic!” She poked her head out a bit through the door. “He didn’t know I lived here-”

Dewi looked concerned and was holding Blakes hand. “Greer, He shouldn’t know where you live already, I mean-”

Greer sighed. “Guys… I saw his driver’s license. He lives on the first floor in the back. He’s the apartment cop the landlord talked about.” She closed the door and grabbed the backup clothes she kept in the bathroom for when she needed to clean up really quick.

Dewi shook his head. “Ok...I don’t even want to know the improbabilities of this… how did you keep missing him then?”

Blake spoke up. “Because… don't her powers respond to her fears? And um… Greer didn’t think she’d get a boyfriend that liked her for her…and cops work weird times anyways so…”

By now, Greer was clean and dressed and came out. “So ... who wants to help me find the best way to phrase all of this to Luce and Sato before they get home and go to the first floor, making things horribly awkward.”

The two looked at each other, trying to imagine Luce’s reaction. They probably should help before Greer said anything herself.

Johnson couldn’t believe how well intertwined Greer and his life were already. He believed in the red string of fate, but even this seemed like the hands of high beings twisting and turning the connecting strings between them. Weaving a beautiful tapestry of romance.

Johnson sighed. He never saw himself as a romantic. But then again, he hadn’t met his soulmate until now. Johnson had always known what type of person she would be, but he hadn’t realized how powerful a soulmate bond could be before he met her.

Johnson stripped off his sticky clothes and threw them into the bathroom hamper before stepping into the shower. He stood under the warm water as it cascaded down his toned body. He had a lot to think about and a long shower was exactly what he needed right now.

He thought his mother was just being sweet every time she told him how lucky his soulmate would be. He should have never doubted his mother’s intuition. She always knew.

He started to ponder and realize how her powers must have affected her in her life and the incidents he had already heard of. From the way she was acting, she seemed like she was new to all of the power stuff. It was obvious that she had never been taught or informed about what rights and choices people with powers had. He made a mental note to ask her more about it on their date.

Johnson blushed again as he remembered that he had successfully asked her on a date. How did he actually succeed after such cringy pick-up lines? ‘Now you are as sweet as you are on the inside’? Who says such corny things?! And how was his response so smooth after she asked what they were going to do next? There was no way he wasn’t possessed by a playboy in that moment. Johnson had even invited her back to his place! And how was he supposed to know that they lived in the same building? He had done his best not to look up her private information so he wouldn’t seem creepy or stalkerish if he knew stuff that she didn’t tell him. Yet he still somehow ended up stalkery… Johnson was glad everything worked out, but with all of these coincidences piling up he was worried she would look at him weird when he told her he was convinced they were soulmates.
