I open my eyes to see a blinding light, am I dead? Hopefully, we just took midterms and seeing my scores is at the bottom of my list. No, I'm not emo, I just have a questionable sense of humor. Unfortunately I'm alive and my mom decided it'd be a good idea to open my curtains and wake me up on a Sunday at 8 in the morning.
I pull the covers over my head, who the hell wakes up at 8 on a Sunday morning?! Definitely not me, my sleep is precious! I feel a big tug on my blanket, there's the blinding light again. I'm almost tempted to hiss like a vampire but my better judgement tells me not to.
"Get up, get ready, we're going to help the new neighbors move in." My mom says crossing her arms.
I stretch and let out a groan to show my disinterest.
"I'm serious Gabe, get the hell up." She says while walking towards the door to leave my room.
I let out a "mm" sound that could be taken as a yes or no. She finally leaves, I lay in bed for a few more minutes before getting up. I walk to my window and see a moving truck, I guess we really are getting new neighbors. I wonder what they're like. While I'm standing at my window I feel the warmth of the sun on my bare chest, it felt really good, I felt like a cat. When I look back down out my window, I see a teen-looking boy looking up at me from across the street.
Yeah, no thanks. I close the blinds and decide it's time to get ready.
I put on my black ripped jeans, green thrasher hoodie, and air forces. I looked in the mirror, goddamn I look rough. My black hair was going everywhere and I had dark circles, matching my just as dark eyes.
Maybe I shouldn't have stayed up all night playing the new C.O.D until 4 in the morning. Whatever, who am I dressing up for?
I grab my phone and headphones and went downstairs to get some breakfast. My mom insisted I only have a piece of toast since she told the new neighbors we'd be there by 8:30. She's always been so damn punctual.
We got over there and there was a woman who I assume is the mom. She had smile lines and a couple grey hairs which heavily clashed with her platinum blonde hair.
The woman smiled at us when we came into her view. "Hello, welcome! My name is Katia Benz, thank you for helping us."
That took me by surprise, she had a thick Russian accent, well she just got really scary.
"Ceasar, get down here, now!" She screamed. If I thought she was scary before she just got 10 times more scary. I knew Russians were loud, but damn.
A few moments later I hear heavy exaggerated foot steps coming closer towards us and see...
