Watching her as she just barely managed to control herself, I was scared she was going to do something outrageous. I've seen her temper flare, so I wouldn't put it past her. She was snarky, sarcastic, sweet, authorative, rebellious, quick-tempered, and special to me but if there was one thing she wasn't, it was fake. She spoke her mind with no regards to who it hurt or angered. I loved her for it.
Wrapping my arm around her waist, we trekked the last mile through the woods. Emerging, we probably resembled two hobos or a homeless couple, but we didn't care since we'd made it through together. Knowing we had to pass through the town, then head due west for a few days, I tried to find a place where Alisdelisgi could get some fresh clothes. It bewildered me that nobody would give her any. Nobody knew her, and she could've been a tourist for all they knew. It wasn't until I found my sister's place that she received some fresh clothing.
Rushing us into her home, Trisha quickly shut the door behind us. "Triston, great to see you alive again! Tyler sent word that ya'll were on your way." Turning to Alisdelisgi, her features automatically transformed into fear and awe. "You're the one long prophesied. I never thought to have you in my home," she whispered almost reverently. Alisdelisgi looked as confused as I felt. Indecision showed on her face before responding. "Trisha, I'm just a nobody trying to escape an extremely bad situation. I don't understand what you mean. I'm a normal twenty year old elemental woman. Nothing real special about that."
Shaken out of her reverie, it was Trisha's turn to look confused. "You mean to tell me that you don't know?! Well, here I thought all knew of the prophesy! Surely, Brother, you must have told her if her family didn't?" I shook my head. I was completely confused since I knew nothing of this prophecy. Running her hand through her strawberry - blonde hair, she let out an exaggerated sigh.
"We'll here goes nothing. Centuries ago, there was one many called crazy because he didn't show any signs if normal elements. He had visions, could talk to the dead, etc. but didn't specialize in earth, fire, water, or air. Nobody knew about spirit at that point, because it was something only belonging to his and one other bloodline that nobody understood. He prophesied that someday, a girl would be born with the ability to control all five elements. She would save her kind from the oppression of other species. He said that she would come to protect and guard us. He called her the 'Protector of her people' and said she'd be half Cherokee and half Scottish with waist - length red curls and bright blue eyes."
Stopping as if she were done, I asked her how she knew Alisdelisgi was the same girl foretold. Trisha began to describe how she'd had this dream the night before of Alisdelisgi. She said that she'd seen her bringing our kind to the forefront of the world's people and bringing us out of hiding. How she was expected to manage this was beyond me, so I just put it off to the back of my brain. Meanwhile, my love was fiercly shaking her head. "You've got the wrong girl! I'm telling you, there's no way I'm the one! There must be another girl out there that fits this description! I'm not cut out to do anything that major." She was vehemently arguing with Trisha, and arguing with her is like arguing with a brick wall. Well, arguing with either of the two women would get you nowhere since they were both positive they were right.
Watching her argue was actually kind of cute. Her eyes were alive. Her words flowed like a bubbling creek. Her red curls were wild as she violently shook her head when she disagreed with something. Her full lips were moist as she kept licking them, one of her nervous habits. My sister was basically her polar opposite. Trisha's eyes showed little to no passion. Her words made you think she could care less, while deep down she did. Her body was rigid and calm, almost as if she was afraid to show any emotion. Nonetheless, both of them would argue their points until they turned blue in the face unless somebody intervened.
Finally stepping in, I pulled Alisdelisgi away from Trisha before things got too heated on her part. Having made something light for lunch while they argued, I ushered them into the kitchen. With the prospect of filling our stomachs, the former issue was dropped. The meal was kind of bland. I didn't know what seasonings to add, so it was plain tomato soup with grilled cheese sandwiches.
About an hour later, we were on our way. Once outside the safety of her home, we began taking more precautions to keep her safe. Finally at the edge of Priorville, I scooped her up and ran like the wind. The wind whipped her red flames around her face, and her eyes glowed with surprise and joy. Man, was she beautiful! About two miles later, I stopped. It felt amazing to run for so long, but man was it tiring as I hadn't done it in a while. Gently setting her down, I walked away a few feet. Unsure of what I was looking for, I just took in my surroundings. The position of the sun told me it was probably about ten o'clock. To the east was more woods, to the west was a lake, to the north was a prairie, and to the south was the town in the distance.
. Suddeny, an ear piercing scream rent the still peace. Whirling around, the sight that met my eyes made my blood curdle. Before me, a couple of extra large wolves circled Alisdelisgi, kept only at bay by her fire. Howling echoed through the sky, as Alisdelisgi flashed flame after flame. Almost like playing cat and mouse, they'd dart after her, then run back a few feet. Finally hitting one of the wolves, she yelled in triumph. Whimpering, the wolf turned back into human form. Recognizing him as the one who spoke to them earlier, I rushed forward, entrapping the wounded werewolf in an earthen cage infused with silver. Striking out, he howled in pain as his hand struck the silver. Looking completely alarmed at his comrades howl of pain, he lunged towards me, giving Alisdelisgi the chance she needed to hit him with combined elements, effectively incapacitating him.
Trapping him in a silver infused earthen cage, I practically ran to Alisdelisgi in hopes of catching her before she hit the ground. Helping her stay up, we went over to the leader. "We've warned you once to stay away from us, and you didn't listen. You're lucky you aren't dead. If you refuse to stay away, you will be dead next time. For future notice, you better NEVER come around us again. Don't send any of your henchmen either." It was as harsh as I could manage without snapping. Turning to the other wolf, I continued. "Next time you think of helping your Alpha in attacking either of us, remember we both have access to the silver throughout the earth thanks to our powers. You might want to steer clear of both of us or you'll wind up dead too."
