The girl from my class

We went on the date yesterday and I had a really good time. I was really nervous at first for no reason, she and I vibed really quickly, I don’t even know what I was worried about. She told me some personal things from her past and that means she trusts me. I think I may like her or I might be catching feelings, but I feel like it’s too soon. Today is Sunday, so I’m not doing anything other than work in the morning. After that, I am going to hang in my dorm.

It’s Sunday and Jazmine went to work in the morning. After work, she met Rayvn at the dining hall and they got some food to go. Jazmine got a cheese pizza, it wasn’t like an 8 slice Dominoes pizza, but like a personal sized one. She also got fries and some buffalo wings. Rayvn got a cheeseburger, two meat lovers pizzas, buffalo wings, and some salad. Rayvn may have gotten a lot of food, but best believe, she’s eating all of it.

They walked to their dorm and they set up their room so they can comfortably stream movies and eat. While they were watching the first movie, Rayvn would not stop talking.

“You know she dies at the end, right,” Rayvn said when the movie started.

“No, I did not know that I have never seen the movie. Anything else you want to share?” Jazmine asked sarcastically, but Rayvn didn’t get the message.

Then she proceeded to tell Jazmine the whole movie, every detail. From the beginning to the end, Jazmine felt like she didn’t need to see it because Rayvn told her everything. Jazmine made a mental note not to watch a movie Rayvn has seen. When the movie ended, Jazmine persisted in picking the next movie. She would scroll through the movies and Jazmine couldn’t find a movie Rayvn hasn’t seen. Jazmine left Netflix and went to Hulu, the same thing happened. Rayvn saw all the movies, so Jazmine thought that she would have luck with some tv shows. Nope, she saw them all too. Jazmine gave up and they just watched movies, and she really liked Rayvn’s commentary. It made the movies better.

After watching movies, they decided to put on the face masks. They had to wash their faces first and then they struggled to apply the face mask. They didn’t have an applicator so they had to use their fingers and then they also got it all over the counter. At least they were able to find the situation funny, but whose cleaning this up after?

While they were waiting for the masks to dry, they were talking and Rayvn asked, “So how was the date?”

“It was really nice. I really like spending time with her. It was nerve-racking at first, but it got really comfortable. It is so easy to be comfortable with her. To just be with her. She told me about her home life, her childhood. I think I may be catching feelings for her. I don’t even know if she’s throwing them.” Jazmine vented.

Rayven nodded and then said, “Maybe you should spend some more time with her. The more time you spend with her, the quicker you would be comfortable around her. It would get to the point if it makes it to that point, where you won’t be nervous to meet her, but excited or happy just seeing her. Maybe you should invite her here today.”

“Yeah, maybe I would text her, ask her if she wants to come over. She may be in church and you know how long church services be.” Jazmine responded really excitedly.

Rayvn hit her with the “mmhmm” knowing exactly how it is.

Jazmine decided to text Rose and said, “Hey, Rose, I was wondering if you wanted to come over to my dorm to just hang out and watch movies if you’re not busy.”

“You don’t mind if she comes over?” Jazmine asked.

“Girl, I just got a text from this dude and he told me to come over and got some good…” Rayvn stopped when she saw Jazmin trying her hardest not to cringe and continued with, “he told me to come over. I probably won’t here and if I am, I don’t mind.”

They washed their face masks off and Rayvn started getting ready to go see this guy. A few minutes later Jazmine got a text from Rose that said, “Yes, I would love to, can you send me your locations or something?”

Jazmine shared it with her, so she would know which dorm building to go to. Jazmine tried to clean their mess, she threw the trash out in the laundry room. That was where the huge trash cans were. She also cleaned off the bathroom counter and made her bed. Rose got there in thirty minutes and Rayvn was still getting ready in the shower. Rayvn texted her that she was outside, so Jazmine went to get her.

While they were walking to their dorm, they were a little awkward. Jazmine opened her dorm room and she said, Rose could sit on her bed.

“Would you like something to drink or eat?” Jazmine asked. When Rose shook her head no, Jazmine laughed and said, “Thank goodness, I didn’t have anything.”

Rose laughed and they immediately got over their awkwardness.

“How was your day?” Rose asked Jazmine.

“Work was the same, but I had some fun watching movies with my roommate, you?” Jazmine reminded her.

“I went to church and it lasted all day. It was really inspiring and touching. I really needed to reconnect with God spiritually, mentally, you know what I mean?” Rose responded.

Jazmine nodded and said, “It’s really nice that you’re connecting with God mentally and spiritually. Getting aligned with God and yourself can really change everything. Change the way you think of things and the way you see things. That’s really cool.”

Rose smiled and then Rayvn came out and said, “Y’all cute, having deep conversations and shit. I’m going to be back in the morning.” When she walked out the door, she winked at Jazmine and Rose.

Jazmine and Rose looked at each other and they bust out laughing. A few hours passed and Rose had to leave to go home and they said their goodbyes and Jazmine were alone again.
