Sunday 6:12 AM
Location: Winter street

The plan is all set as I've put a few notes on the layout of the hand drawn Subdivision I made during my spare time. It was simple though, I drew a square with a vertical and horizontal line inside of it, so it looks like a cross. Then I drew a not so perfect circle in the middle indicating the Center Plaza, I also indicated the streets, and added a few key points.

VILLA ANGELINA SUBDIVISION

A. Center Plaza
B. West-side of the plaza is Spring St.
C. North-side of the plaza is Summer St.
D. East-side of the plaza is Autumn St.
E. South-side of the plaza is Winter St.
F. South-East, My house.
G. North-West, the exit to main road.

Before heading outside, I made sure that I was well prepared. I wore my dark-blue jeans instead of shorts in case I need to roll or skid on the ground. In times like this, you'll never know what's going to happen so it's better than wearing my usual shorts, even though it's more comfortable. Additionally I can put my pistol anywhere on my waist since I have a holster.

Regarding my top, I dusted off my old black collarless leather jacket and wore it on top of my white T-shirt, same thing with the jeans, I wore the jacket in case I need to pull a few stunts, even though it's 6:30AM in the morning and I'm sweating bullets. I've also duct taped a few rolls of reading magazine on my left forearm, just to make sure whenever I think that I'll inevitably be grab, I can use it as a distraction just like in a certain movie I saw, it was practical, so why not.

The biggest problem was my footwear, I know I can't use flip-flops so I decided to either wear my usual running sneaker or my dad's safety shoes for construction. Both of them have their Pros and Cons. Like for the sneakers it's very comfortable and easy to run, but regarding its protective capabilities it pales in comparison with the safety shoes' steel toe and soles, I also think that I can crush a skull with it if I apply enough force, but it was heavy unlike the sneakers.

Without wasting any time I quickly chose the safety shoes. I also brought a camping backpack instead of my school bag, inside of it was a foldable duffel bag my dad used when he was still a Seaman and some extra clothes just in case I get dirty since I'll be killing those things along the way.

Satisfied at my own preparation, I ventured outside my door very slowly, making sure that the machete in my right hand won't hit the metallic door. Now onto the route, I have two choices since each street has a gate heading towards the center.

A. The shortest route which is going through the Winter street's Gate, straight towards the Plaza's north gate, then to the exit, or..

B. The longest route but the safest, head towards Autumn St. to Summer St, then to the exit.

It didn't took a few seconds for me to make a decision, I proceed to Route-B which was the safest. Also If you're wondering why I didn't include Spring St. in my plan, simply because it was the most populated area inside the subdivision, and I've already experienced what was out there, when I went to Jackson's house to investigate.

Moving in a discreet manner, I'm already half-way towards the end of Autumn St. with only two zombies blocking my way, so I simply avoided them. I guess I should consider myself lucky, but later on I found out the reason for that so called luck, the gate heading towards the plaza was close.

[DANGER! MENS AT WORK!]

Ignoring the urge to make a stupid joke about women's period because of the misspelled word, I remembered that two weeks ago was the drainage renovation near Autumn street's gate, because whenever there was heavy rain the water will remain there for a few days, so everyone going there as a shortcut will have their footwear soak and legs bitten by mosquitoes. Therefore the community establish a conference with the governor, asking to fix the problem as soon as possible because it might cause a dengue outbreak.

"Well, we still had an outbreak though.."

After spouting that tasteless sarcasm, I finally reached the end of Autumn St., curiously I didn't encounter any person calling for help. I guess they didn't risk making any sort of noise because of the announcement yesterday.

"Or maybe, they are already walking down the street, making things difficult for me.."

I don't know why I'm this grumpy early in the morning, maybe it's the jacket microwaving my body, or it was the noodles spilling incident when I realize I stepped on a upturned cockroach.

"It has to be that fucking cockroach.."

Do you guys have any idea how fucking scared I was, after I stepped on it, it proceeds to crawl under my soles towards my toes. I didn't even have the chance to get upset over the last food I had, I screamed like a bitch and instinctively kick my feet up towards the cemented wall, hurting every toe have.

"So that was the reason I instinctively chose the safety shoes, I see.."

Realizing that I was already halfway near Summer street's gate, I notice a large number of infected in the area, so I quickly hid myself, crouching towards the nearest bush, proceeding to count each infected carefully, not affording to miss one.

"Seventeen.. It has to be my favorite number.."

Disregarding any negative thoughts, I carefully inspected every rock near me, since my objective was to hit the metallic trashcan on the opposite side of the street. Hence depending on the size of the rock I might cause too much noise or knock the trashcan over, further attracting the zombies at the Plaza since the gate was wide open, potentially flooding the street.

"I can't believe that a rock is deciding my fate.."

Well not only the rock though, since I might whiff it I need to exert the right amount of force.

"I guess this one.."

I picked up a rock the size of small egg, then proceed to throw it in a basketball shooting stance.

"Kobe~"

The rock flew straight in an arc towards my desired goal, as I narrow my eyes focusing whether I did it or not, then I notice that the shot I made was a little too short. Realizing that I need to get another one, the rock I threw surprisingly hit the edge of the sidewalk ricocheting towards the trashcan it made a nice gentle clang sound.

When I saw the whole spectacle I felt the sudden urge to shout but I quickly realize it wasn't the right time, I need to see how many did I pull over.

"One, two, three, four... seven, not bad."

It was a huge success, not only did I pulled seven, I didn't attract a single infected at the Plaza, I guess lady luck was on my side. Still feeling pumped up, I move towards the house near the bush I was hiding, then I was hit by a sudden realization.

"Did I just say Kobe~"

If people in these houses are watching me right now I bet they are laughing their ass off.

"Nah, they can't be watching."

Reassuring myself that nobody saw anything, I went towards the porch while crouch-running, and when I was sure that no one was here, I heard a faint whisper inside the window behind my back.

"Hey Kobe, do your business somewhere else.."

I take that back.. I move away quickly with my face still beet red with embarrassment, I went again and hid myself behind the bush while trying to figure out the next step.

Recovering from the psychological trauma earlier, I figured out that you just simply need to redo it again, the objective is different though, I need to hit the car's wheel, around twenty meters across me. So without further ado, I pick up a rock with the same size as earlier then threw like any normal person would do.

"Shit!"

I realize just now that some cars have their own built-in alarm system, I curse myself for not thinking rationally, I've been playing L4D and L4D2 for a long time, and I get so pissed when someone accidentally shoots a car on Expert mode.

"This ain't Expert mode this is real life.."

*Clank*

After the rock finds its mark and made a loud noise, I curse myself again for being accurate, without delay, eight zombies started making their way towards the vehicle and I pray to god that the car doesn't have an alarm system. After a few seconds the zombies started piling over the car, and I was ready to bolt the moment it sets off, I don't want to be surrounded on both sides.

I waited for a good two minutes but the there was no alarm, but to make sure that it was really safe I waited for another minute before deciding that it was green. I slowly made my way through each bush towards the exit while avoiding the last two zombies. Scouting with my binoculars then seeing that the coast is clear, I climb up the inclined slope connecting outside the main road and cautiously proceed towards the old guard-house.

Making sure that it was deserted I went inside the old guard-house near the entrance of the subdivision. After securing every door and window, I sat down on the floor then proceed to take a quick break, thinking that it was a well-deserve one.
