Minds A Mess

Flustered

Flustered

Dec 14, 2019

Alex:

On my way to school, I passed a girl before arriving at the gates. She looked really happy. We made eye contact and as she looked at me, she smiled one of the brightest smiles I’ve ever seen, so I smiled back at her. She looked like a nice kid, probably in middle school or something.

When I got to school, the halls were really crowded. This was honestly the last thing that I wanted, but I just continued to walk to my locker. After getting out the books I needed, I checked the time on my phone. I only have five minutes before class starts. It’s literally on the other side of the school. Well shit.

Without even thinking, I started running to my classroom. I couldn’t be late, if I walked there it would take at least ten minutes. I bumped into almost everyone I passed, saying sorry every time I did since most of them got annoyed. I got to my class just as the bell had rung, and I quickly walked to my seat. Once I sat down, I was almost breathless, but I started paying attention once the teacher started talking.

The rest of the day went smoothly, except when in the last class the teacher asked me if I could clean the classroom when school finished. Of course I said yes, I would feel bad if I said no. There was someone who was supposed to help me, but he ditched and I was stuck cleaning the class by myself. Luckily it wasn’t too messy, it only took like ten minutes until I was finished. I then got my things and started to leave.

When I was going to walk out of the gates, I remembered that I completely forgot about trying to talk to Noah today. I face palmed my forehead, which kind of hurt a bit, but then I remembered the thing that Anna told me. Now that I think about it, why does Noah sit behind the school? I’m pretty curious, so I decided to go there. Was there really anything interesting?

I kind of hesitated, but started walking towards the back. While walking there, I was trying to figure out what was behind the school for fun. I was surprised to see a large field, the school has a gym but it’s inside, not outside. It was kind of beautiful, there were different types of flowers everywhere, it was actually beautiful. But then I saw someone standing there, I could only see the back of them though, he seemed to be looking at something. I think it was a flower? It took me a second, but I then realised it was Noah.

Why the hell is he here, I thought he only comes here during lunch? I’m really confused, I do want to talk to him, I just couldn’t bring myself to speak. Overall, I think the best thing to do is to just leave him be. What would I even say to him? When I moved back, without looking where I was going, I stepped on a twig, and it snapped. That made my heart drop, I’m way too anxious right now.

Stupid twig, stupid twig.

Noah turned around and looked at me, I just froze. What am I going to do now? Noah kind of looked more shocked than I was. For a few seconds we just stared at each other. I got way too embarrassed though, as I took a step back, I was able to move again. Once I got the courage, I just ran away.

“Hey, w-wait!” I heard Noah shout behind me, it wasn’t really that loud, but I managed to hear him. He wasn't running after me though. To be honest, he doesn’t seem like the kind of guy to stutter either. Maybe it’s like a one time thing.

I ran until I was alone, the school wasn’t even in sight anymore, I didn’t know where I was. I was panting, while my hands were on my knees and I was just looking at the ground. I was completely flustered, uncontrollably blushing. Trying to catch my breath, I didn’t notice at first, but I said one of my thoughts out loud.

“Oh shit.. He’s hot..?”

I’m forever going to regret those words.

Noah and Alex see each other, Noah's long hair blows in the wind. *cue romantic music*

Okay okay I'll stop, but I'm really happy now that they've seen each other. By the way, this is the first time that they've both actually seen each others faces.

But I hope you enjoyed this chapter.

Thank you so much for reading! ❤
