It has been firmly and irrevocably established that all men, or all of mankind, are created equal. This truth is held dearly by the American especially because of the type of nation we are. I grant that we weren't always so true to this ideal but only within the last 40-70 years has the world in general come to this point of equality at birth. In recent years, however, this truth has become distorted. Identicality is being erroneously called equality but these concepts are vastly different. Identicality treats itself to every individual. Everyone must be the same. If you dont conform, you're the enemy. Equality on the other hand treats the group as one whole. Everyone is treated the same while nobody is forced to conform. With identicality, you succeed or fail according to the group. With equality, you succeed or fail based on your own work and merit. Each ideal leads to a vastly different end. Identicality will lead only to failure because there will always be at least 1 in any group that will not conform and therefore cause the downfall of the whole. Equality on the other hand allows the non-conformist to do his own designs and should he fail, he fails alone, but, he is allowed to succeed. American equality is the great truth that each of us have the opportunity to succeed according to the effort we put forth. Inherently, this means that some will fail. Unfortunately, that's part of life. We can avoid failure as well as we can avoid death and taxes. Identicality seeks to safeguard us from such failings but to do so would mean that the great success of opportunity disappears. I only ask for the same freedom to act and be acted upon as others before me and I will work to ensure that the same opportunity, the same truth, is granted to those who follow.
