Everyone is too loud. It just feels like everyone’s screaming at each other and it’s one side against the other (at least from what I’ve seen on the Internet) Whether it’s:
Conservatives vs Liberals (Republicans vs Democrats)
Black Lives Matter vs All Lives Matter
Pro vs Anti abortion
Feminists vs Antifeminists/MRAs
Or any other big argument, it just feels like we’re all just trying to one up each other in who’s more oppressed and it sucks. I’ll admit, I was more feminist leaning a few years ago--after all, who doesn’t want equality?-- but recently I’ve also been looking at videos by ‘antifeminists’ and trying to understand both sides of the argument. I’m trying to listen and form my own opinions on issues rather than just blindly following either side.
In fact, I’ve got a documentary that I’d recommend that’s free on Youtube right now. It’s called The Red Pill. It’s about a woman (a feminist in fact) who goes out to talk to Men’s Rights Activists. Now, I can already hear some people groaning about said documentary, but I find it interesting. The people interviewed do make good points that I feel need to be heard.
And as for those people who say others are sexist/racist/etc, simply for supporting Trump, this is what I have to say; you can support someone and not like all of their ideals. I support my dad, but that doesn’t mean I agree with all of his ideals, like how country music is basically the same song over and over again (yes, I like country music. Always have, always will, but I also listen to other genres.)
Yeah, I know, I’m probably gonna get a lot of backlash for what I’m saying, but hey, I don’t really care. Feel free to stop following me if you want, I’m chill with it. I’m not looking for internet popularity. And if you disagree with what I say and wanna comment an argument against my ideas, that’s okay too, just be respectful. I’ll do my best to debate and find evidence to back up my own views. I will also try to be as respectful as possible to you as well
Currently, my view on America is that so many people are obsessed with trying to be ‘right’ about who’s more oppressed that we aren’t sitting down to collaborate on what the best course of action would be to solve these issues. Honestly, we all just need to set aside our egos for two seconds and try to see things from the other side’s perspective. That’s the only way we’ll be able to get anywhere with a solution.
