Running, running at me. Hurtling through bushes swiftly dodging the silver birch trees. It's eyes aflame, claws sharp as a butchers knife. It was mad! Why was it coming after me? What had I done wrong? I have to keep moving, I was stumbling over branches, limping across the rugged forest floor, leaves, dirt and stones strewn across it. Going as fast as I could I stopped. Behind me, I no longer heard the sharp crunch of leaves, under its padded feet. I turned, its delicate ears perked up at the sound of birds calling.
"Come on, girl!" She turned back to me, tail between her legs, though as soon as she caught my eye, it was wagging rapidly and she bounded over excitedly, barking. We headed down to the old cottage, waved hello to Mr and Mrs Demiyo. The first time we met them, we sneaked up to the house unruly and tangled with ivy and flowers. The cobblestone lined with honeysuckle. Mya is very good at keeping quiet for such a bubbly dog, we crawled over to the windowsill where a freshly baked apple pie sat, begging to be eaten. Mrs Demiyo, Annabelle, came to the window to collect the pie to see a strawberry blonde boy and a dog drooling over it. Annabelle invited us in and gave us some pie, and it was delicious! Now, whenever we are in the forest, she invites us in! Except on Fridays, because that's the day we have family night and when Mya and I have to be home early, and we were already late!
. . .
We knocked on the big leaf green door with the number 42 on it, our front door. THUD, THUD, THUD. a stampede of feet run to see who's at the door, I hoped maybe Tiffany would be waiting on the other side. But it was my mother, and because the sky had already turned to a dusty indigo, she didn't look happy. Of course she scolded me until she noticed my limp. And that's when the most overprotective mother in the world stepped in.
"Oh, my baby! Are you alright? What happened? Did Mya do it? Bad dog!"
"No, no, mum! Mya didn't do it, I just tripped on my way out of the woods!"
"Oh, alright! Come on, we've all been waiting for you to get back!" She said with a face that told me she was only pretending to be mad to make me squirm a little. Mya stopped whining when she saw that she had a small gift in her bowl. Steak! It was her favourite treat.
"Jamie! Come sit next to me!" Tiffany commanded. She loved sitting next to me at the dinner table.
"What're we having?"
"Rice. With peas and sweetcorn" Mother replied.
"And pitta bread!" Louie added
"Great!"
After I had helped my self to 3 servings of rice, peas, sweetcorn and pitta bread I was stuffed. Until mother brought out vanilla, mint and strawberry ice-cream, with sprinkles and sauces and berries! After a large dish of ice-cream, I really couldn't eat any more.
"So, what are we doing for family night?" I enquired.
"I think we should watch some movies or old tapes," suggested gaggy, he's my granddad.
Everyone agreed with him. So we watched some movies like: Bambi The Lion King And Airbud! Everyone in my family loves animals.
THE NEXT DAY
Since it was the weekend I was allowed in town on my own until 7:30. While I was out I saw some of my friends, Karissa, Tony, the twins Mackenzie and Melanie. But I also saw someone I didn't know very well, because she's EdgyMcEdgeLord. I don't actually know her name all I know is that she's pretty cute, but not my type at all. But something was up, I only noticed it now but she was HAPPY!!! It's really weird seeing an emo smile, by the way, but she was also wearing this cat headband?? It was really awkward because our eyes met and stuff. I had never noticed until today that she had a shine to her eyes. The ears on the headband matched her sable hair, that shimmered in the late noon sun, deep blue, entrancing eyes with eyelashes that fluttered like butterflies.
