Additional fun information: The huddle was created in the 1890's at Gallaudet University, a college for the hard of hearing and deaf. Paul Hubbard, the college's quarterback , wanted to communicate with his team, but didn't want the opposing team (also consisting of deaf players) to know their plays. Gallaudet University is also known for giant drumlines on the sidelines to help players know snap counts via vibrations.
