Lucy lay in her bed, sound asleep. Erik was gone now. The only people in the house was Lucy and Cole (though they had their own rooms).
Suddenly, Salad. I mean, suddenly, Lucy woke up (probably pissed at her narrator). Oh, actually, she's not. She heard a bumping sound.
She sat up and turned to her window. Why was it opened? She definitely remembered closing it... she got up from her bed and closed the window. It was windy, why would we leave it open?
After closing her window, she turned back towards her bed. She gasped.
Within the shadows, there was a mysterious figure sitting on her bed. What a cliche. He has one leg on the bed, arm resting on it, and his other leg dangling precariously over the edge. Their body was very relaxed like that of a teenager. His head was down. Even more of a cliche.
"E-Erik?" Lucy suggested, her arm closing in on her chest.
The figure looked up slowly, revealing brown eyes in the moonlight. Though maybe they were red. After all, that was his hair color. A deep shade of anime red hair.
"No." He said simply. "I'm his opposite." This is starting to sound like one of those awful oc's you find on DeviantArt. Gross.
"O-oh." Lucy replied. "S-so, are you evil?"
"No."
"But if you're his opposite, shouldn't you be?"
"Not necessarily." The man stood up. Lucy now noticed the scar on his eye. It was almost a straight line, starting at the center of his left eyebrow down to his eye. It then continued from the bottom of his eye until it was about level with his nose. Somehow, his eye was unaffected. Yup, he's definitely someone's edgy oc. Who could've thought of this awful thing.
Oh wait.
Lucy stood perplexed, unsure of how to reply to the implication.
"I recommend you stop talking to Erik immediately. Join forces with me instead. Otherwise, I'll haunt your dreams for eternity."
"I-I don't want to ignore Erik...." Lucy began to fidget, "but I'd be more than happy to be your friend!" She said with a smile.
The man cocked his head to the side, trying to understand the little girl.
He sighed. "You know, most children don't try to befriend the monster under their bed."
"Are you a monster?" Her voice quivered.
"Of course not. I'm an angel. Unfortunately, I am like Erik." The man looked away, his face becoming pale.
"O-oh. But... but what's wrong with being an angel? I thought it'd be so cool to fly!"
"Not when you have to look after someone such as Erik."
"...what did he do wrong?"
"I'm-I'm not sure," the mans face matched the color of his hair. "B-but, I know he's doing something bad!"
"It's not very nice to assume those things."
"Naïve child. Ignore him." The man began to compose himself. What even is this chaps name.
"By the way," Lucy said, "you never told me your name."
"Ah, yes, my apologies." The man said. "My name is Kire. I have a mission which is to dispose of Erik. Or, at least..." His voice trailed off.
"At least what?" Kire now had Lucys interest.
"Hm? O-oh, I said nothing!" For being a creepy antagonist this guy is preeetty emotional.
Lucy began to ponder what Kire might want to do with Erik. She suddenly began to fear for her friend.
"I won't let you hurt Erik if he's done nothing wrong," she said at last. "B-but like I said before, I'd be more than happy to be your friend." Lucy hesitantly extended her hand, as if to shake Kires.
Kire looked at her open hand then back to Lucy. "I'm not sure how I'd feel about that. Erik is my enemy after all. But, I will give you this to make sure you are safe from harm." Out of thin air, he pulled out a coin which he then placed in Lucys hand.
He stood up from the bed. "I will see you again. How often and when I'm not sure, but I know I will." He opened the window and placed his right foot on the seal. "Well," he said as he turned back, "have a good night." He hopped out the window without a second thought. At first, he fell but then reappeared as he flew up, suddenly having sprouted a red pair of wings.
Lucy stuck her head out the window, as she saw Kire fly with grace and awe.
Once she was done admiring the view, she closed her window again and switched on the lights. She hadn't had the chance to get a good look at the coin she had received.
It had a star on one side but looked as if it had been drawn because of the crossing lines. That being said, it appeared to be uneven but it was definitely engraved. The other side was the same only mirrored.
Lucy sighed. She had no idea what to do with this. Just as she thought that, the coin grew dangerously hot.
She quickly dropped it and winced.
The coin began to bubble, as if the metal were boiling. Slowly and gradually, it began to expand and take some sort of form. It somewhat resembled that of a... jellyfish?
The, uh, jellyfish like creature had a somewhat blue tint to its appearance and it's tentacles? Whatever those things were, they were blue too. The creature was floating as well. Wait no, it was flying. It had strange little blue bat wings. The blue creature began to change its hue to green. That's not a creative color.
Lucy looked at the creature in utter confusion. Who's that Pokémon? She thought to herself. It's what every small child thought when they found a new and exotic creature.
Though it had no face, or any other features it was... kind of cute? In a weird alien creature kind of weird way. Was this even an alien? Lucy, why and how are you so chill with this?
"H-hello," she said hastily, unsure if she should approach the creature.
There was a strange sound, like a squish but also a squeak.
"Oh!" Lucy said. "So uh, do you have a name?"
Squish.
"Can you speak?"
Squeak.
"I guess, uh, I'll just name you?" Even in Lucys imagination, she never pictured herself talking to a green jellyfish with bat wings.
Lucy heard tapping on glass and turned around. There was Kire flying at the window holding a sign. It was on a lined piece of paper quickly scribbled with a marker.
I don't know what she/he/it is but their name is Nyla
Just as Lucy finished reading the paper, the little creature plopped itself on Lucys head. It wasn't sucking her brain out or anything it was kinda just there. Lucy looked up but could not properly see the creature. She looked back at Kire.
He flipped the sign.
Nyla doesn't eat but she loves you
Lucy awkwardly did an "okay" sign with her hands, still unsure of what to do with the creature.
Kire made the same gesture. And this time he flew away for good.
"Okay so you're Nyla," Lucy said looking up.
The lil thing made a strange purring sound.
"I love you too!" Lucy said with a smile. She has absolutely no idea what Nyla said but she assumed it was that it loved Lucy.
"Can I uh, go to bed maybe please?" Asked Lucy as politely as she could.
The creature did the lil purring thing again.
"O-okay uh. Maybe, I'll just," Lucy reached up for the creature. As she grabbed Nyla, Lucy noticed that he was somewhat wet, like a toad or a frog. Possibly even a slug. Lucy shuddered.
Despite the texture of the creature, Lucys hair was not wet.
The creature was the small enough that it could be carried by a small child with both hands. But it was strange because it bent. It was almost as if the creature were liquid...
Basically a cat.
Lucy sighed as she went back to bed. It was too late to be dealing with this. She would consult Erik about this in the morning.
