Chapter Eighteen

~~~Sunny's POV~~~

To say I was excited about watching a movie with Adrian was an understatement. I was so content to be in his arms while 'Beauty and the Beast' played in the background.

"Can we pause the movie? I'm getting hungry." I said shifting as my stomach gave off an angry growl.

Maybe if you didn't ignore it for so long you wouldn't be starving!

Shut up Jake! I just didn't want to bug him and I'm comfortable!

Uh huh...

I just sighed inwardly.

"You were talking to Jake, weren't you?" Adrian asked with a chuckle.

"Yeah. Sorry." I said sheepishly looking into his eyes.

"Let's go get you some food." He said getting out of the bed. It was cold outside of the covers and I shivered. I tried to hide it but he saw me before I could hide it fast enough.

"Come here baby girl." He said opening his arms. I hesitantly stepped in but was immediately glad that I did because the warmth wrapped right around my tiny frame.

"Better?" He asked as he picked me up and carried me out of the room.

"Much better" I sighed. It was nice to be warm. I didn't even care about the embarrassment of being carried to the kitchen.

He sat me down onto a bar stool and I immediately missed his touch. I knew that I was definitely becoming too attached to him mate or not but it was a natural thing.

I wanted to protect him from Marcus but I couldn't leave him. Every fiber of my being said to stay.

"What do you want to eat?" Adrian asked as he made his way over to the fridge.

MEAT! 

"Some meat I guess." I said after Jake all but made me deaf. I could almost feel my brain bouncing around in my skull from how loud he shouted it.

Adrian busied himself with getting a pan out and some seasonings as well as two medium sized steaks. I wasn't sure I could finish one of those but I wasn't going to comment.

I could feel Jake wagging his tail at the aroma the steak was giving off while it sizzled in the pan. I felt pretty useless just sitting here doing nothing but I didn't know how to cook either.

"You aren't useless." Adrian stated out of nowhere. I was surprised and confused. 

How did he know what I was thinking?

"We've bonded enough that I'm beginning to be able to read your thoughts through our specific mind link." He said a smile in his voice.

"Oh I thought that was a myth." I said genuinely surprised. My parents never talked about it and Marcus was just an asshole that lied every time he opened his damned mouth.

"No baby girl but, I am surprised that its happening so fast. It take normal werewolf mates a few weeks to a few months to be able to use it." Adrian said taking the steaks out of the pan and plating them as well. He sat across from me and gave me my silverware. 

We ate in silence until I all but face planted into my half eaten steak from exhaustion. I felt my consciousness fade away and I was too tired to even care.
