Draco made several frantic attempts at collecting his thoughts before he finally succeeded. After Draco had awoken, it had taken him a while to grasp what had happened to Harry (and Neville) after the attack. "Neville, are you sure that you're alright? You did take that hit square in the chest." Draco was attempting to comfort Neville as he rubbed his aching torso. "Draco stop faffing! I'm fine, man." Draco continued to pamper Neville. "Draco seriously, stop! I'm not your boyfriend, man!" Neville burst with frustration. Draco suddenly stopped and stumbled backward away from Neville. He wore an expression of sorrow and horror. "I-I-I'm sorry, Neville. I didn't mean to make you feel like that..." Neville attempted to grab Draco's wrist to get him to listen but Draco swerved out of his reach. "I-I need to go anyway." Draco stuttered. He turned and fled to the safety of his car.
After he and Harry had begun dating, Harry had enticed draco into a competition of who could learn to drive first. Draco being a Malfoy and naturally competitive meant that the deal was on, without a doubt. In the end, Harry had won by getting to complete his final driving test first. Draco had then complete his and, with the money his mother had given him, he bought a car for the three of them (Harry, Narcissa and himself) to use while in the muggle world. Draco had driven himself and Harry to the funeral as his mother had not wanted them to be troubled by being trapped in a Hurst with her weeping for an hour.
Draco heard the familiar ring of his flip-phone and fumbled with the glove compartment to get it out before it reached voice mail. He answered it just in time. "Hello...?" Draco spoke into the speaker. All he could hear was white noise and the sound of distant cries. "Harry...? Harry, is that you?" Panic began to rise in the back of Draco's throat, clogging up his airways. "Draco, It's Crabbe." Draco slumped back in the drivers seat. He let out a breath that he hadn't realized he was holding. "Crabbe, why are you calling me? I'm a little too busy to be having a chit chat with anyone right now." The stubbornness in Draco's voice caused Crabbe to inwardly sigh. "Why what's happened? Is everything alright?" Crabbe managed to fake his shock in an attempt to fool Draco... It worked. "Harry's been kidnapped by someone and I haven't heard anything from them yet and Neville got hit with a Cruciatus Curse and now he's hurt. Not to mention my head is everywhere but where I need it right now!" Draco grew closer and closer to hyperventilation with every event that he listed. "That's awful!" Crabbe sounded horrified by what had happened, "Are you hurt? Is everyone else alright? Have you notified the Ministry yet?"
Draco's mind was racing. Everyone but himself and Neville had been unscathed by the attack; and he had not yet had two minutes to stop and call for a search party. "I was hit by a close up spell and knocked unconscious but everyone is okay. And no I haven't had a chance to call for Aurors yet, I'm going to call them now." Draco fiddled with his seat belt and jammed the keys into the ignition. He needed to set off now if he was going to make it to the Ministry of Magic anytime soon. "Don't worry about calling the Ministry, I'll call them now and tell them you're on your way. You make sure you take care on the roads, there's been a forecast for ice today." Draco smiled to himself as he get the engine revving. "Thank you, Crabbe. I'll take care. And when you get through to the Ministry, can you tell them everything that's happened and what happened to me and Neville please? We need the best Aurors we can find to deal with a task like this." Draco heard a scream coming from Crabbe's end of the phone. He was about to question it when Crabbe cut him off.
"Not a problem. I'll get right on it. Bye!" Crabbe hung up and placed the phone screen down on the desk in front of him. "He'll have a nasty surprise when they get there and they're completely oblivious." Crabbe began to laugh aloud to himself, amused to how easily his plan was being carried out.
