The Kingdom of Evander, year 715
The sun was shining bright, the water of the small lake sparkling as General Fang walked around the garden with the 3rd prince, Hanjin. The bloody palace became even more dangerous lately and a plan had to be made in order to assure the position of the crown prince.
"You got quite the nice garden here," Hanjin praised him, as he stopped on the small wooden bridge that was crossing the river.
"It is my wife's efforts that keep this place like this," the general smiled softly. "It cannot compare to the palace's gardens beauty though," the man said politely regaining his stern composure.
"Drop the compliments and formalities with me," Hanjin chuckled, covering his mouth in a swift move with an elegant fan. "We have things to discuss," he started but a thunder followed by what looked like a flash stopped him. Few seconds after, something fell into the lake. The two men after exchanging a confused look approached the lake. There, the body of a woman was laying, only covered by a delicate gown that was now soaking wet. Hanjin raised his eyebrow. "What do we have here?" he thought.
"Someone get the girl out of the water!" Hanjin ordered, opening his fan again. General Fang approved with a slight nod and a few maids hurried to the lake, taking out the frail-looking girl. Maybe things could turn out to be interesting.
A stabbing pain went thru Jae's whole body as he tried to move. His head was throbbing, and he felt nauseous but he managed to open his eyes for a bit before they closed back. Looks like he got fucked up pretty bad this time. But at least he managed to get away from the thugs. He shivered only at the thought of having to meet with the ogre girl.
Ugh.
But where was he now? Hospital? He slowly tapped the mattress. It was soft and covered with a silk-like bedsheet. No hospital would have something like that. He didn't use silk at his place either... Where was he? Afraid of the possibility that he ended up taken away by the thugs he finally managed to open his eyes.
He was welcomed by a painted ceiling depicting a beautiful sky. He could hear faint voices talking around him.
"My lord, she's awake!" the voice of a woman said next to him. Who was awake? There was somebody else in his condition?
"Call for the doctor!" a grave, deep voice ordered. Shortly, the curtains of the baldacchin were opened, an old man facing him. He was dressed weirdly, in what looked like a green gown with a brooch in form of a cross over a leaf pinned on his chest. The man then began to look at his eyes, take his pulse and press different areas.
"Do you feel any pain?" he asked. Surprisingly, Jae didn't feel anything anymore.
" No," he replied and then looked at the man shocked. What happened to his voice? His voice was still hoarse but now it was more soft and high pitched, almost like a woman. The doctor then stood up, facing somebody.
"My lord, the lady seems healthy, nothing is to trouble about her health. I will recommend some light meals and herbal tea just in case, " the doctor announced with a bow. The general nodded and the man left. Hanjin approached the bed.
"Help her stand up a bit" Hanjin ordered as he approached the bed. The maid followed his order and helped Jae that was looking at his hands confused. They were so thin, he could grab his own wrist completely. What happened. Was this a joke? Secret camera?
"This is a secret camera prank, right?" he asked, still looking at his wrists. "This can't be real. This is some VR experience, right? It's a joke," Jae kept mumbling.
"I don't understand, what is a camera prank and VR?" Hanjin said tilting his head to the side confused. What language was the girl speaking? Be didn't hear something like that dialect before. At the sound of his voice, Jae instantly looked at the person next to him - a tall, slender man with the face of an angel, white, long hair framing his face while his pure grey eyes were looking at him confused. He was so pale that made him even more surreal.
"Are you an angel? Did I die?" Jae asked with his last bit of hope in understanding what was happening. The man smiled sweetly at him.
"No," he answered and Jae's face fell. "The maids here will help you bathe and change, we will wait for you afterwards." the man announced and left. What? The maid approached the bed, holding out her hand for Jae to take it. Without saying anything, Jae followed her. He needed time to think. Nothing made sense anymore to him. Was he actually a female?
He followed the maid thru the large hallway, passing different doors, all of them having beautifully carved magnolias in the reddish wood. They stopped in front of a double door, a few more maids waiting there.
The bathroom was a huge hall with a breathtaking marble pool in the middle. Two phoenix statues were positioned in both ends of the rectangular pool, filling it with water.
The maids approached Jae.
"What are you doing?" he looked at them confused. The maids stopped in confusion as well.
"We have to help miss bathe," the one that showed him the way said. She wasn't too bad. Long dirty blonde hair, held in a braid, a few strands of hair getting out of it. Her face was quite plain, nothing special except the greenish eyes.
"You can help me, the others leave. I don't want too many people around when I bathe," he ordered. With a hand gesture, the maid made them leave. After they closed the door, Jae took down the gown he had on him. The maid holds out her hand, Jae smiled, putting his hand over hers, going down from her elbow to her hand softly before grabbing her hand. Ah, so soft. Nothing could compare to a woman's skin.
"Is my skin soft?" he asked as the maid put some flower petals into the water. The maid approached him. She moved his black hair to the side and started putting something, which he assumed was soap, on his back.
"Very smooth, miss, " the maid said politely washing his back. Jae was biting his lip. In normal conditions, he would've taken her into the pool already. Stay strong, Jae, you have to see what is all about!
