The current Emperor Cyrill vi Alexandria wasn't initially meant to inherit the throne. His mother, Empress Shea vi Alexandria, had chosen his younger brother, Prince Kiran, as her successor.

Kiran, however, turned out to be a cruel, merciless emperor. He ruled the nation with an iron fist and was a man that brought chaos upon Alexandria and its people. Buying slaves, stealing from the poor and innocent, and sentencing those who opposed his reign to death. Whether those people were of his own flesh and blood or not – it did not matter to him. He ended up killing his mother and siblings, leaving behind only Cyrill who later lead the rebellion against him in the civil war that soon broke out.

Kiran vi Alexandria had at last fallen from his throne into the darkness of hell itself and his older brother rightfully claimed the Alexandrian throne as his after thirteen long years.
