What makes New Years any different from any other day? Strictly speaking, it's just another of the 365 (366 every 4 years) days that mark a 2 dimensional rotational completion of our planets orbit around alot of hot gas. So why does it hold so much sway? Because we, as a human culture have made it so. Through various practices, pursuits and means, have accustomed ourselves to look at this day with a sence of "new". What's new? Hope, I think. Hope that the future is better than our present. Hope that we have the power to make it so. Hope... in ourselves. We hope for these results because we have faith in ourselves to achieve them. Hope comes from a sure faith. Faith comes from us acting on a certain belief. So believe that you can do it, act in accordance with that belief and presto! You have hope to achieve it. And if you keep working on that hope, you will achieve it.
