“What did you mean that they knew your name? Did they recognize you?” Maria asks.

“Oh god no, the last time I saw them I was wearing graphic Tees” I laughed.

“Yeah and now you’re like stunning. Like I think even the guy was fantasizing about you.” She laughs as well.

“Funny, now, I know my way around this place perfectly, where do you need to go?”

“Actually I am pretty sure it is your childhood bedroom.” I think something is up now, he would not have given her the same room as me.

“Are you sure?” I asked suspicious.

“Yup, pretty sure,” She says laughing. “Why, what’s yours?”

“My childhood bedroom.” I say, she then stops smiling.

“Oh, well, uh, should we just go and see?” She suggests and I nod and start walking in the direction of the north wing.

While we were walking down the massive halls we ran into a few maids but they decided not to stop us either because we were already inside so we must have gotten through the guards, or because we still looked quite intimidating with our clothes and the click of our heels.

“Here we are.” I say as I walk into the room. I had basically spent the first 14 years in this house, playing hide and seek, playing board games, reading. I had so much fun here, I could even go weeks without having to see them.

The room is huge, like Matthew and I have a huge dorm, about 1500 sqft. And this room is slightly bigger than that. The walls are painted a light blue with plane decals all over the walls. There is a king sized bed on one side with a TV on the other. The closet is about the size of Mine and Matthew’s bedrooms put together. The ceilings are about twenty feet high with a crystal chandelier in the center lighting the whole room. On the opposite side of the door is a full wall made of windows overlooking the pool which is the size of about 10 Olympic sized swimming pools. It’s funny though, Matthew and I left this house, including others, just because of a few people. “Uhhh, this was your childhood bedroom?” Maria asks in disbelief.

“Yeah, although this room is smaller than the one at my actual parents house I still slept here most of the time, I also had a room in most of their other houses because of how much time I had spent with Matthew.” Her jaw drops wider. They haven’t changed this room at all since we left. It looks exactly the same.

“How-, wait who are your parents?” She asks, I laugh.

“Ha, I had changed my last name so I would no longer be associated with them.” As I spoke, I could see the cogs turning in her head.

“Why, what did they do? And who are they?” She repeats.

“Well that is for me to know and you to find out.” I say and she huffs. “Well should we open our letters?” She nods so I pull the envelope out of my pocket, the letter is a dark teal with light pink print. I inhale deeply and start reading...

‘Dear Axel, I feel bad about Matthew, I mean he’s kinda in the institution because of me, let me guess, you’re wondering how I know he is in a mental institution considering I am dead, well we won’t reveal that quite just yet. AND I bet you want to know what I told him to get him that fucked up. Well if you survive this quest then you might just find out...’

Noah

Next Henry straps me in and starts counting down before we are supposed to jump. “3” I have been scared of heights since that day and this is not easy, “2” He had made me afraid, I can’t go to a ledge without thinking of him. “1, JUMP!” I jump even as scared as I was. Zachary also jumps. We go up and down which seems to take forever before we stop and we are left hanging. After a second I remember that I have to read the letter so I pull it out of my pocket.

The letter is a red color with beautiful maroon calligraphy. I breath and start reading,

‘Dear Noah. Ah, although I didn’t love her, it still hurt to have her die trying to save someone I hated. I sometimes remember this and feel pain in my chest, not sadness for her, but hatred for you. It’s funny right? How I can barely even remember her name but I still want to avenge her... Well looks like I’m finally going to do just that...

Ryan

“Because you thought I was an easy target, I love teaching people a lesson.” I smirk then turn around. I can hear him trying to get up to attack me again so when he jumps at me I move over to the side and he falls face first on the ground. “God, just stop. It’s embarrassing.” I then go over to the pit in the ground leaving him behind. Once I get there I pull out Andrew’s letter.

The note is white with a nearly glowing yellow print. The yellow is metallic and extremely bright. I seem to recognize this color I just can’t remember. Well, let’s just get this over with.

‘Dear Ryan, Deserted. That’s what I was, I was deserted for a week, a whole fucking week left alone, no food, no water, no human contact. Do you know how awful that feels? No you don’t because you were in your huge house perfectly fine. You deserve much worse than this game...’

Leon

“Now you stay there while I read something.” I smirk and pull out the letter.

“Well it’s not like I can go anywhere.” He responds still gripping at his ankle. I breathe deeply as he watches me open the letter. It is a gorgeous purple color, Noah would love this. It has an extremely dark army green color for the calligraphy. He is continuing to stare at me looking for my reaction. He seems to have forgotten about his wound. I start reading,

‘Dear Leon, Hmmm. I think I hate you the most, first you tell me you loved me then you leave me in my time of need? You’re a terrible fucking person, the only thing I had ever wished to change about Matthew was him being friends with you. God, a fucking perfect guy, AND he says yes to dating me but the only thing wrong with him is that he is best friends with the one person that broke my heart. Let’s just cut to the chase’

Everyone, (Axel, Leon, Noah, and Ryan)

‘There are several rules this letter will tell you, it will also tell you your side quest and beginning challenge, as well as tell you who you are allowed to team up with. If you try to break any of these rules you will be found out because I have designated each of you a person to follow you and keep tabs. I have also had one of them bug each of your homes. And don’t try looking for them, she is brilliant, you won’t find them. Rule 1, You may not read this letter to anyone. 2, You cannot go to school until this game is finished. 3. Your first challenge is in the area surrounding you, you must find it. 4. The game will end at my funeral and the game will be revealed then. 5. You must have your ending token there as well to turn it in. The side challenge is a singular hint that will allow you to find a side token, if you get this you will be able to ask the person that has been following you one question and they must answer 100% truthfully.’

‘SIDE CHALLENGE HINT: If you fall asleep you are at your most vulnerable, let’s see how long you could last in a home with your mortal enemies. First challenge hint, ‘When you are young you see the world in a beautiful pink color but once you grow older everything turns black.’ And finally, the people you are allowed to work with are Leon and Maria.
