Rose’s POV
Richmond, Virginia 2023
I woke up in a room. My wedding dress was hanging on a clothing rack and I had on a shirt that was way too big for me and some shorts. The room seemed to replicate my old room, but there was something off. There was a different lock on the door and these bedsheets were far better than my own. I walked into the bathroom and found all of my things. I went through each drawer and everything was in place from my new house with Chris. I went back to my double sink and found my toothbrush and I decided to do my morning routine. Just because I was kidnapped didn’t mean I was going to let myself slack. I had no idea if my kidnapped was going to let me stay here. I grabbed a couple of bobby pins to try my luck with the door but I could soon see that there was a fingerprint lock along with the door lock. I groaned out with frustration and rummaged through the closet and clothing rack. It had all of my clothing and shoes. I decided to get dressed. I decided to wear my pink Adidas shirt, blue jeans that were ripped at the knew and my white Adidas with pink stripes. I sat on my desk and grabbed a notebook. I had nothing else to do but wait for my kidnapper to tell me his demands and declare what he wants for me. I tried to look around for clues as to where I was. All I could see from my window was woods. Was I even in Virginia anymore? I prayed that Chris was okay. He’s always had a temper and knowing how possessive he is I wondered if he’s already put in a missing person report. As I sat down on the queen bed a beep was heard at the door and I sat calmly, as the man entered. I wasn’t going to lie, he was hot. With his brown hair and blue eyes and perfectly toned body. He sat down on my desk chair and he stared at me for quite some time. After it seemed like hours, he finally spoke.
“Do you know who I am?”
I shook my head. “No, I do not know who you are, but I’m guessing you know me?
He smiled and nodded his head. He told me that we’ve never met officially but he’s been watching me for quite some time. That’s not creepy at all...He told me that he usually doesn't look twice at a human other than to feed but there was just something about me that enticed him. He said he could feel raw power and that's rare. He took me to protect me from others who could come after my power. I deadpanned him. He could have just told me all of this information over a nice cup of tea instead of ruining my wedding. I was about to marry the love of my life and he decided that of all days, that was the day that he decided to “protect me” he was leaving some information out. I tried to keep my face as calm as possible. He was reading me. He was studying the details of my face and it looked like he was battling internally. “Tell me what you're thinking about,” I couldn’t tell if that was a question or a statement so I let him continue. “Tell me or I’ll force you to tell me.” To lie or not to lie. That was the question. I decided to go around and ask him a question instead. “How are vampires superior to humans, I’ve always been curious?” He smiled at me and told me everything that I needed to know, like how a vampire has super strength, hearing and smell. How they can use compulsion to get other species to do their bidding. All except for witches. So he would know if I was lying or not. I’ve got to play this right or I’ll never escape.
