Time passed by pretty quickly during class. I can't really remember what we did, since I don't really pay attention to that kind of stuff, but we sure did something. Obviously,- we couldn't just do nothing. Once the bell rang signaling that classes were over, I quickly walked to the girl's room. I was still a little shocked about what happened with the clock and Lyria... I just needed to wash my face to get myself back together.
I considered dropping my backpack on the floor but I'm sure it's covered in germs so I just kept my backpack on. (Not my backpack, the floor has germs) I rinsed my hands and face, fixed my wild hair as much as I could, and grabbed a paper towel. When I reached for it, I felt a hand holding the paper towel. I had a feeling of whom the hand belonged to, I just whispered "Thanks" and dried my hands and face. I really hope she didn't follow me or something, that'd be a little weird. Nothing wrong with that, just, unusual? I walked out of the restroom as a voice called out to me, "Kera! Hey Kera! It was Lyria. "What's your next class?" She asked, urgently. "P.E." I replied. "What a coincidence!" Pardon me, Missy, are you saying I have the same classes with this girl I just met who seems very much interested in my EVERY move? I wasn't sure what to say, so I just kept walking to the gym. She was next to me the whole time. The strange thing that happened during that was that each time someone was right in front of me, they'd somehow immediately be moved to the side to not bump into me. It was cool, if I must say. Mostly just nice to not have people walk straight through me as if I was invisible. Not literally of course, it's just always like nobody can see me but they know I'm there. This strange "phenomenon" is called the power to "ignore". It's fine, I'm used to it. They just looked a little surprised whenever that happened, like they didn't move on purpose. Hah, as if. They probably just did not realize that they did moved over, though I have to say, they did look confused.
The bell rang. Luckily though, I had made it to gym class in time. Lyria was still next to me, like always. The coach called for us to sit in role call, whatever that is, so I sat where I had always sat since my second day. A few minutes passed.. Coach checked attendance, we dressed out into our P.E. uniforms, yadda yadda. It was "Choices Day". Choices Day is something we earn for being good the whole week. It's where we can all do things of our choice, that's where the name comes from. Blah blah, stuff like that. This day our choices were to play basketball, play volleyball, or walk a few laps. Not much to choose from but at least we didn't all have to do one plain thing. I chose basketball since it's the only sport I'm actually pretty O.K. with. I attempted to get the ball in the hoop multiple times. I might have made it once or twice by that time, lucky shots, right when Lyria caught my ball when it hit the side of the net thing to join me in my intense game of "one on zero". "One on one?" She asked.
"Huh?"
"I mean- can I join your game?"
"I don't know, It's not really a game, per say."
"I'll take that as a yes."
Man, she's pushy. Either way I let her join me. I can't keep running away from her anyways. "Might as well get to know her better," I thought. Before I asked any questions, we tried making a few shots in the hoop since she did want to compete, at least that's basically what "One on One" means. She beat me, can't say I wasn't surprised. I'm not the best at basketball. "So," I hesitated, "Where are you from?"
"Can't say."
"Why not?"
"I'll tell ya later."
"Alright, uh, what's one of your hobbies?"
"I like to create things"
"That's cool, me too."
"I know."
"How so?"
"You just seem like the kind of person who would, plus you were making origami during last class."
"Oh, right. You noticed?"
"Yeah, you're lucky the teacher didn't."
"I suppose so."
(Not hard to believe she saw me making origami.) It went on like that for a while. I learned a few things about her, she learned a few things about me. It wasn't so bad, having someone nice wanting to know more about myself and my interests. We have a few things in common, too. I even found out a little more about her sister, Lexie. Turns out she disappeared about five years ago. That's half a decade. What's really sad is that Lyria says that sometimes she forgets about her, and it's almost like she doesn't exist, she says. That reminded me of my late parents. They disappeared when I was born, too, or at least that's what adults tell me. Others tell me they ran off or just didn't want a baby to take care of, but I know that's not true. I can't quite put my finger on it, I just have a feeling.
