Opening my eyes I quickly start swimming away. It shocked me how fast I
appeared to be swimming. Glancing back the coast was already far behind
me. Perhaps if I stayed in the water for a while, I would be safe. It was so
peaceful out here in the ocean at least in this part. In the party Jacoby had
gone to check on Teresa only to see Jerra on the balcony.
“Where is she?”
He went instantly into a rage grabbing her by the throat. Jerra simply gave
him a smile placing a hand on his own.
“I set her free. Even now you can’t see your obsession with her is toxic. It
started as love then became very twisted. Is this really what you wanted
her to endure?”
Jacoby throws her against the wall. His eyes glued to the water knowing she
would have gotten very far by now.
Jerra rubs her neck looking to him. She couldn’t help but to be happy. Jacoby
turned around walking over putting his hand on her shoulder digging his
nails into her flesh.
“I swear that if you interfere again you will die. It doesn’t matter if she
even hates me. I will have her all for myself. No one can be with her but
me.”
Jerra laughs some moving his hand from her shoulder as the wound closes.
“You really are pathetic Jacoby. Even after all this time I thought you would
realize she can never belong to anyone. Teresa was my friend then and is
still my friend no matter what. I wish her the best life possible without
you tormenting her.”
Jerra walks away from Jacoby as letting a red midst cover her body for
protection.
“Don’t think this is the end Jerra. I know you helped her commit suicide to
get away from me before...I will never let you get in my way again.”
His eyes were still of a blood rage when the host came to the balcony. Jacoby
calms down looking to his friend.
“Spread the word about her so she will be found. If anyone touches her
they will die.”
The man smirks as bowing some to him.
Teresa had swam to a deeper depth after a few hours stopping to rest. She
had been watching the fish of many different species swim past. This was the
first time she was in awe of fish which made her laugh to herself.
“I hope that bastard is pissed off!”
Letting out a sigh I look up to see a huge fin that I don’t recognize the
species. I look harder to see that it was an actual merman. What the hell? I
really didn’t think I would meet one this soon in the water. He was swimming
with a small clown fish next to him. It was nice that he didn’t seem to notice
me. Slowly I start to swim away only to have my foot grabbed.
“Huh...let go!”
Turning I see the merman holding my foot with an inquisitive expression.
“Can you please let go of my foot?”
He let go just swimming closer to me. I suppose to check me out which
wasn’t too surprising if he’d never seen feet.
“What are you woman?”
Trying to ignore the attitude I give a smile.
“I’m a hybird it seems. I’m a vampire/mermaid. That is all I know.”
He touches my hair then smiles a little.
“So you are the legendary hybrid. I feel bad for you. The stories they told of
people hunting you down was really sad. I felt pity for your past life.”
Oh great now the first merman I met feels pity for me. This was just my
fucked up year it appeared to be.
“My name is Kai. What is yours Miss hybrid woman?”
Really was there a reason to point out the hybrid part?
Closing my eyes for a moment I just wanted silence. When I open them the
clown fish had swam almost into my face.
“One the fish is too close. Two my name is Teresa Vermont. Please don’t call
me Miss hybrid again?”
Kai smiles moving the fish back taking my hand. He didn’t wait for me to
even say a word as pulling me along. We swam for a few hours till reaching
what looked like an underwater city. It was breathtaking to be totally
honest.
“This is where I live Teresa. You can stay with me and my pet B which is
the clown fish.”
His kindness made me start to cry as curling myself into a small fetal
position. Kai looked so worried as he pulled me into his arms almost in a
panic. I gave a faint smile just hugging him
