It was hours later that Kita and Akai finally clothed themselves. Akai wore basketball shorts, a tight sleeveless jersey, and shoes that would be comfortable on a basketball court. Kita, seeing how comfortable Akai looked, decided not to put the god-robes back on. Instead wore yoga pants and a loose knitted blue sweater with a boat neck. It left his collarbones and long neck exposed in a way that Akai thought looked very sensual. It made the fae second guess leaving their little sanctuary.
As they walked back, little dryads kept peeking at them and giggling happily. Many brought flowers to Kita, making the fox blush. Akai knew it was their way of showing approval for whom he'd picked as a mate. Having the forest happy at his choice gave him added satisfaction, even as it also made his cheeks flushed with embarrassment. Everyone in the woods obviously knew what had just happened.
When they finally reached their usual nest, night brushed its fingers against the day, starting the shift towards evening. Akai had threaded his fingers with the smaller man, holding the growing bouquet of flowers, so Kita could accept more with his free hand. It was interesting that the Dryads were only giving him white and blue flowers. They must associate those colors with the fox. Akai certainly did.
Once they broke through the forest and into the clearing at the heart of the forest, Akai let Kita's hand go. He turned towards the fox and bowed, offering the bundle of flowers back to the man in a gesture that was more romantic than he'd ever done in his life. It was amazing how one changed once they'd found their intended.
Kita accepted the bouquet of flowers and hid the bottom half of his face behind them coquettishly.
A voice cleared behind Akai, and he whirled to face the person. It was Fate. He was standing tall and looked formidable. Akai found himself clearing his own throat and blushing to the roots of his red hair, to be caught out flirting with Kita.
Fate's penetrating eyes looked back and forth between Kita and Akai. The neko fae couldn't decide if he approved or not, the god's emotions were kept tightly in reign. Then, a small smile crooked the dark-haired man's face, and he said, “Welcome back.”
Akai shrank to his diminutive form and fell back into the lush grasses as he let his breath whoosh from him and the nervous energy went with it. He'd thought that the older god was going to have him flayed for taking liberties. Though, Akai should have known better. He did kiss the god after all. And holy stars was it ever a kiss! There was no way that he didn't approve of Kita and Akai doing what they did. Akai rolled up and let himself fall bonelessly to the ground once again, not having managed to relieve all the pent up stress from that moment just yet.
Fate laughed at Akai's antics, and Kita giggled along.
