I admit those words hurt but my dad is a 6 foot 4 bodybuilder who could have easily broken every bone in my tiny body.

My Dad also has an axe hanging in the living room it's real and very sharp I'm not going to ask why.

Dad is joining us for breakfast I eat in complete silence while he stares at me. If looks could kill I'd probably be dead by now. I just wanna eat my pancakes. He doesn't eat he just sips on coffee the whole time. I finish breakfast and I think just leave my best friend Jon lives next door and his dad is more accepting.

I walk in Todd immediately sees the look on my face and hugs me.

Sebastian: Thanks Mr. Will

Todd: Please just call me Todd

Sebastian: Sure

Todd: So how are things going with your dad?

Sebastian: Pretty rough he's scaring me.

Todd: Your father scares me too I can only imagine how that is for a child.

Sebastian: just wanted him to love me.

Todd: I can talk to your dad for you.

My face lights up Todd is friends with my dad this might go well.

Todd: Any way you 2 should run off to school.

Jon and I walk to school and have a pretty uneventful day. Got home from school.

Well looks like our town's favorite superhero is giving a speech on television. Mayor: Our streets might be safe thanks to this guy welcome Commander Cardinal.

Cardinal giving a speech: Hello everyone I'm here to congratulate you on another successful fundraiser. I can fly I can shoot lasers from my eyes and I'm stronger than most even but these are not what makes a person a hero. What makes a is the willingness to help others. From the government from me from the people we amassed 100 thousand dollars to improve the lives of orphans and give them a chance in life. Thank you God bless

Cardinal's point of view

I leave the stage while plenty of adoring fans cheer me on. Offstage I walk over to my superpowered friend.

Galen: Great speech you gave out there but must you name all your superpowers?

Cardinal: I didn't I left off my super fast regeneration and perfect photographic memory. I can't forget anything no matter how good ___ or bad it is. This is why I look towards the future.

Todd [calls out]: Matthew?

[Matthew the name of Sebastian's father ]

Todd: So you're just going to abandon your child?

Matthew: Well abandonment isn't the worst thing that could happen. I hear the orphanages just got a lot of funding.

Todd: You're sending your son to an orphanage.

Matthew: Well no my wife won't let me.

Matthew: So Todd?

Todd: YES.

Matthew: Does your son Jon have the disease.

Todd: What disease? Matthew what are talking about.

Matthew: Is your son straight?

Todd: Yes he is but if he wasn't I'd love him anyway.

[Matthew turns away and stares out a window ] Without facing Todd he says.

Matthew: Well Todd you aren't me.

Well end of the first chapter in the rewrite and it's already so much better.
