In Yaru's case, instead of going to the Kii pool, the wild Kii disappears during the Kii circulation. He can't control the wild Kii. The moment the wild Kii forms, it's already fading like fog, so he can't direct it to his Kii pool.
If Yaru could direct the wild-Kii in the direction he wants it to go, that would solve his problem, no? The Kii won't disappear, and he'll be able to cultivate like everyone else. It's perfect!
It's also impossibly hard.
Yaru had tried to get the same result for years, but no matter what he does, it changes nothing.
Usually, Yaru wouldn't dare to open his mouth next to Fan Kuo. That scumbag of an instructor *hates* him. Asking a disciple would sometimes get him an answer, but not for this one.
For the rest of them, this part is almost instinctive, like breathing. Yaru's disciple brothers don't know how to explain it, even had they were willing to.
However, this is a matter of life and death. Yaru needed an answer, and considering that the tournament is getting near, Fan Kuo should answer, right? So, Yaru takes the risk of asking, "how can you control wild-Kii?"
The entire class looks back towards Yaru, before looking back at Fan Kuo.
The instructor sneers, which makes him looked like a wild beast. His eyes look right at Yaru, but that doesn't make the boy feel any better, because they are filled with resentment and disgust.
After a few seconds, Fan Kuo turns away and ignores Yaru entirely. It's as if Yaru never asked to begin with.
The rest of the day is the same way. Whenever Yaru asks a question, he gets that look before it's ignored.
It seems like the cultivation instructor is trying to fail him. The worst thing is, Fan Kuo knows what failing means, and so does Yaru - it means death.
Yaru is almost shaking in anger at the blunt mistreatment, 'that damn instructor is trying to get me killed!'
That man knew what it meant to go to the tournament unprepared. He knows the truth, and he's actively trying to get Yaru killed. And doesn't that that just makes the room feel so much smaller?
'What did I ever do to you?! Why are you so insistent on killing me?!'
Yaru finally couldn't take it anymore. Feeling like he has to get out of there, he gets up.
The entire room looks in his direction, but Yaru could care less about what they think right now.
'I need to get out of here,' his breathing is hard, and the room is starting to spin.
His chest feels constricted, 'I-I can't. This is beyond unfair! I don't want to- I-' and he looks around. There are faces. They're everywhere.
'Stop staring at me!' Yaru takes a step back, and he almost falls.
Laughter erupts suddenly. It's creepy and high pitched.
'T-this whole place is out to get me. They w-want me dead.'
Yaru's red eyes darts from one person to another. He's feeling sick, 'I can't stay here.'
The boy stormed out of the training hall, practically running away. He kept going, passing boys and girls in the hallways, not stopping. Can't stop now. He had to keep going.
Spinning. It's all spinning, and the room is moving around like it's a freaking rollercostar. Like it's alive.
The laugher from before is following him. He crushes into one of the walls, and his already hurting wounds pulse at the rough treatment.
He never did anything to anyone! Why?! Freaking, WHY?!
'I don't want to die here! Please, I can't! I don't want to! Please! I can't! Ho fuck. Just tell me what I'm supposed to do?! I don't want to die!
There must be something. Ho god. There's got to be. I can't die here. I can't. Ho god. This isn't happening. Fuck. Fuck it damn it! Wha?!'
Yaru fell, headfirst into the ground. His entire body shook, and his macules ached. His head was spinning. The room was-
MAKE IT STOP!
.
.
.
[Lis-n!]
[Listen!]
A dark, chilling voice like a bad omen echoed in Yaru's mind. The room changed colors painfully, and Yaru screamed.
It was banging on his skull. Overwhelming. The room changed colors, and Yaru screamed.
[... my luck ... useless...]
[Listen when I'm talking to you!]
The boy spun around with his hands buried in his hair. He was looking. This voice, this voice... where did it come from?!
Hissing and spitting like an angry snake. Yaru's eyes blazed with fire, "who are you?! Show yourself!"
There it was, that laughter again.
"Stop it, please...!" Yaru's voice cracked. He was practically begging that person by this point, but he needed some time to collect himself.
He felt like he was falling apart at the seams.
[Sure kid, but just so you know…]
[Someone's here.]
