The building was huge but according to the map, there's only ten floor. So, that means we had to find clues or anything that might be useful for us later. At least until three days, to throw the looters off our trail. We searched the second and third floor only to find some medkit. Well, at least it's useful because I only brought bandage for Tyler but without painkillers or anything to ease the pain. Drugs for fever, penicilin, it's very much what we need.
"Found anything else, Ty? Andrew?" They shook their heads. All the paper was messy, and everything here was useless. I guess they took all important and classified files.
"Let's move on to the next floor, okay? The faster the better." They might think I was moving too fast but I'm doing this for Tyler. He thinks that he can hide it but he can't. It's obvious that the sensors inside his brain was hurting him. It's probably because unsteady brainwaves from the zombies around. He twitched around in his sleep sometimes I'm afraid to lose him right there.
"Anything?" Shook.
The next one... still nothing. But the moment we stepped foot inside one room still opened, we found surveillance room. It connected with all the CCTV around. Well... it's not useful but it's not worthless. We can...
"Ty, are you okay?" I looked at Tyler worriedly. He breathed heavily. I tried to lessen his pain by holding his shoulder steady. Andrew noticed this too but chose to not say a word.
"It's nothing, really." He brushed it off like it's nothing. But knowing him, I just hugged him to make him feel that I will always be there for him. Then without a moment of notice, He sobbed.
"I-It hurts, Rere. It hurts." He whispered. I wiped his tears and squeezed his shoulder to comfort him. I didn't know what to do. The only thing she can do is to be there for him and gave him a painkillers. I thought it would lessen his pain cause of the sensors and slowly, it worked.
"It's gonna be okay, Ty. I will find a way to remove it. I know we will." Hope. That's what I see in his eyes, while tried to hold down his head to lessen his pain. He looked up at me and formed a smile on his face. I smiled back. Andrew stood there silently. I noticed him give a sign that he will try to search the upper floor for anything useful. I nodded and he left. I'm glad I brought him here.

"6th and 7th floor is useless too. No means of communication or even information on where they evacuate." Andrew climbed up the stairs to the 8th floor. He noticed something unusual. He found many papers laid around the floor. Barely readable. He lifted a paper, it says, "Experiment failure. Conduct emergency evacuation immediately." He assumed that many people gathered on this floor during the emergency meeting of this company. It made him mad that they didn't tell people about this.
"I'm gonna kill them when I found them." But then a groan was heard, it was close. He hid behind a cabinet and took a sharp breath. It moved around sloppily, He threw a pen and it made a sound which it follows the sound. But, then it turned around and walked really fast. He closed his eyes and...
"Are you not bitten?" He opened his eyes and blinked. A woman. What is she doing here? He thought it was a zombie. Well... he didn't know that it was a woman with a white robe like a scientist.
"No." I answered. She was relieved. He wasn't surprised. The virus can only infect people through bite. Well, to put it simply, through blood transfer. It's only an assumption of his observation from the other survivor.
"Thank god, I thought you're bitten and tried to distract a zombie by throwing some pen? Who cares, well what's your name?" She rambles and it makes him uneasy.
"I'm Andrew. And you are?"
"I'm Linda, the scientist of this company." The last statement almost wanted to make Andrew jumped at her. But, he held back.
"So, you're part of the company who's responsible for all this sh*t happening around?" She nodded weakly. She noticed that he was mad about but she couldn't blame him.
"Yes. But, I'm not responsible for the X-01 experiment, you know? I'm not a part of the team that cause the outbreak." She defended herself. It was probably true. Probably.
"Is it?" He still doubted her, but he wanted some proof.
"If it really was me, why would I be here alone, not escape with the others?" She had a point. He put down his knife, he panted heavily.
"Why are you here anyway?" He noticed her, took a seat and fiddled the computer.
"I tried to salvage any data I can find related to X-01 experiment. I wanted to find useful information but I guess it's too late. They erased everything." She answered shortly.
"Then, I wanted to ask you something. Do you happen to know experiment regarding an orphanage?" She flinched. He noticed this and dug deeper.
"I don't care if you're a part of it but I just wanted to ask you a couple of questions. It's regarding a son of the scientist here." She raised her eyebrows. It seems she's interested.
"He was brought and experimented bere along with many orphan. What experiment do they conduct?"
"I happen to have an acquitance working on that experiment. It was X-02 experiment. He only said that he worked on modified humans and nothing else."
"For what?" It made Andrew very much, curious. But, it seemed like she knows nothing beyond that.
"I don't know. It seemed like they reluctant to give any info. But, if my theory was correct, it was related to X-01 experiment." Eh? But Andrew remembered she said, ...
"Exactly. It was erased."
"B-but can you retrieve it?" She shook her head.
"No. It was permanently erased. It seems like they already anticipate this. Annoying." She was mad, too. Well, probably because she was mad, she didn't know about this. But, what she said really made me Andrew remembered something. She said theory.
"Wait, you said it was your theory. How do you know it was related to that experiment?"
"Remember that he said he worked on modified humans, right? But, why kept it a secret? He worked on it after the X-01 experiment was conducted. It was weird. Scientist never conducted an experiment without a theory first and this is public company too."
"So?"
"So... what I meant to say was this was weird. The X-02 experiment conduct an experiment quickly after the X-01 experiment. Without a theory. Which means, they used a theory based on X-01 experiment. Public company only funds a product, not modified humans. Nonetheless, that experiment was conducted. So, they must've known something about the X-01 experiment." She said. It leaves Andrew pondering, which means Tyler was being experimented because of X-01 experiment. But what exactly is X-01 experiment?
"What exactly is X-01 experiment was about?" She crossed her arms. She was mad because Andrew didn't get it.
"Don't tell me you didn't know about this. It was broadcasted worldwide." He thought deeply, broadcasted worldwide? He thinks it must've been a product that made an impact... wait, impact.
"You mean...—"
"Correct. It was a virus to cure all disease." Andrew noticed this was what lies beyond the secret of the outbreak. A key to uncover the cause of all this. He didn't know if it was necesary to know all this but it has already been done. What would he do know?
