“What?!” I looked around the conference room, and without another word I ran from the room, many voices suddenly becoming loud with panic. I watched as security ran through the building and many of the desk workers wondering what was going on.
“Is the building on lockdown?” I called to Lukas, who was running after me.
“Yes!! Nobody’s gonna get in, nobody’s going out!!” He replied, waving a remote in the air. “Thank God he was put in charge of making our security system.”
As quick we could, we made our way to the lab, a crowd forming around the main entrance doors. I pushed past everyone, muttering ‘excuse me' to everyone I pushed in to. I gradually stumbled into my lab and gasped softly, covering my mouth with my hands.
Security was combing every corner of the room, and holographic police tape was over the left corner of the room. Kneeling near the wall were to figures, yelling and kicking at any officer who came near them. Lukas came up next to me, placing a hand on my shoulder. My eyes went to my work desk, and my Holo Caster had disappeared.
“WHERE-?”
“It’s here.” Lukas pointed to his own desk, where just below it, my Holo Caster was hidden away under his bag. I let out a big sigh of relief, my hands going to my chest.
“Thank you, Lukas.”
“Of course Amelia, though, I’d ask one of the officers what’s gone on. Those thieves broke in specifically to take Syntha.” Lukas murmured, pointing in the direction of the two surrounded by officers. I took in a quick breath, wringing my wrists. Those two…
“Okay,” I said sharply, adjusting my shirt and fluffing my hair. As I made my way to the thieves, I could start to hear the conversation between them and the officers and the soft rattle of handcuffs.
“You have the right to remain silent-”
“Bite my ass, pig!!” The first one, who was a fiery little blonde snapped, grinning and showing off their sharp canines.
“Anything you say can and will be used against you-”
“Suck a cock you piece of shit!” The other shouted, his voice deep and gravely, and his black hair was almost covering his eyes.
“Uhm, excuse me,” I cut in, smiling sheepishly. The security guard looked at me, slightly disgruntled. The two thieves looked up at me, and their eyes widened, smiles slowly coming over their faces.
“Amelia!!” The blonde beamed, pushing against the wall and standing up. I took a step back, the guard punching him in the gut. The blonde fell to the ground, groaning softly.
“Radio!” The second scooted toward his accomplice, worry shadowing his face. He looked to the guard, who just laughed. “Don’t touch him!!”
“Excuse me!” I cut in again, placing a hand on the guard’s shoulder. “I’ve got this. I need you to please leave for a moment.”
“I’ll stand right o’er yonder, little lady. These two ruffians are crafty ones.” The guard spat with a thick accent, grumbling under his breath as he walked away. I let out a soft sigh, turning to the two in front of me. They both just stared up at me with eyes filled with wonder and amazement.
“You’re still okay!”
“I don’t even know who you are.” I frowned slightly, wondering how these two knew my name.
“Well, I’m Radio, that’s Blade, and now that we’re acquainted… Again, we need you to come back! Now!!”
