Luna moved out of the bed and stood in front of his twin brother, as if shielding him from the old woman.
“I’m sorry for failing to save your grandson,” Luna sincerely uttered. “And as much as I want you to grieve for him, I can't allow it. Not at this moment. You cannot bury or burn this body. My twin brother needs a vessel until we retrieve his body from Pride. The sooner we get to do that, the sooner you can give a proper funeral for Carl and...” he paused for a moment as he tried to look for more reasons to convince them and when he did, he took a deep breath before frantically mumbling, “Maybe this is a chance for him to do something good and somehow redeem his soul. Please, allow us to borrow this body.”
The old woman gazed at Luna for a long time. Her eyes were filled with piercing grief like the eyes of Dr. Jerami and the two striking men standing beside her.
“Grandma Romera, I also think that this is an opportunity for my son to be redeemed,” Dr. Jerami cried and in an instant, the tall, dark, and handsome man came to her side, put his arms around her and gently patted her back, trying to comfort her as she spoke, “I know his body is empty but it is still his body. If it was used to help someone in need, then maybe he could be redeemed.”
“I also think that Carl's soul, no matter how small, is still out there,” the tall, dark, and handsome man added, looking a little hopeful. “Some sins enjoy devouring souls bit by bit. If we act now, maybe we can still save my son’s soul... and maybe…” he paused for a while as he hesitated then closed his eyes and shook his head. When he opened his eyes, he looked determined and more so when he said, “Maybe my son can still live.”
“I don't know about that,” Grandma Romera wearily sighed as she sat on one of the beds nearest the stairs.
“But it is worth a try,” the old man said, sitting beside Grandma Romera. “We will leave this town as soon as we can,” he glanced at Luna and Sol with a small smile. “We need to see first how ready you twins are.”
“Thank you,” Luna gratefully uttered. “It seemed that Dr. Jerami already told you who we are but we don't know anything about you.”
“Of course, you don't,” Grandma Romera replied, suddenly looking annoyed. “We keep telling your father to give you awareness to the side of the world only a few of us can see. But he never listened. This might not happen…”
“Romera, we should focus on teaching them what they need to know,” the old man kindly interrupted and gently patted Grandma Romera on her shoulder.
“Grandpa Emmanuel is right,” Dr. Jerami agreed. “We should not waste more time in blaming people.”
“Okay,” Grandma Romera said despite her annoyance. “But I can't do it tonight. We traveled long. It's exhausting. Emmanuel and I need to rest. You and Alfred can teach the twins.”
“Let's talk over dinner?” Dr. Jerami asked after Grandma Romera and Grandpa Emmanuel had left the ward.
“That's a good idea,” Sol agreed while holding his belly. “I'm hungry. Let's go, Luna.”

The dining room inside the mansion was a spacious one. At the center was a long marble table with ten wooden chairs around it. An elegant chandelier was hanging above the table. There were also exquisite lamps sticking out of the cream colored walls. A wide window was on the right side of the room. It was closed and a translucent white curtain was covering it.
The kitchen was on a separate room next to the dining area. Dr. Jerami entered the door leading to it. She reheated everything that she cooked earlier that day. She prepared plenty of dishes from soup to dessert. It was like eating at a fancy restaurant.
Luna and Sol liked everything that she had prepared. It seemed that Carl had the same preference when it comes to food.
They started eating in silence. The four of them were all reminiscent. They were thinking of the people they used to eat with but had suddenly gone missing.
Dr. Jerami was the saddest of them all. She prepared all those dishes to please his only son, to convince him one more time to change his mind, but before she could make him eat those delightful dishes, he already made a heartbreaking decision.
Luna could somehow see himself in Dr. Jerami. Carl hated her so much but she refused to give up on him even once. Just like how Luna could not give up his hope on Mom.
Luna could see Dr. Jerami glancing at Sol with a longing smile. It was like seeing his own expression in a mirror.
“I'm not Carl. I will never be him,” Sol reminded Dr. Jerami as he stared back at her.
“I know,” the beautiful doctor smiled a bit wider. “I just can't help imagining Carl having that same enthusiasm while having dinner with me and Alfred. It felt like a long time since he last joined us for dinner,” she closed her eyes and sighed before saying, “He began to change when he went to college,” she held her husband’s hand as she desperately expressed. “Alfred and I want to hold on to what you said, Luna. We want to help our son redeem himself. We want to hope that Envy had not completely devoured his soul. We want to save our son as much as you want to save your parents and return to your body, Sol.”
“I know,” Sol sincerely uttered. “We will save them. Just tell us where we will go and how can we strengthen our abilities.”
