Kera Universe

The Truth

The Truth

Feb 01, 2020

"I've been trying to tell you!" She explained, trying to calm me down. "Why are you telling me all this? Is this why you've been following me around?" Lyria looked at me, and took a deep breath. "Kera," she said, "let me just tell you first to not freak out, we're in public." Public? Uhm, YEAH. We kind of are?! I calmed down. I wasn't too sure what to believe, that what she was saying was true, or that I'm losing my mind and this is all just a dream.

But first, let me recap.

"What?" I questioned her, "What are you talking about?"

"I can answer your questions, but we have to go somewhere private."

She snapped her fingers, and I felt that chill again. But what was weird is that when I turned around, I realized that the same people were still walking out of the gym. "Huh?" is all I managed to say instead of asking a lot more questions. Hm, I guess I still am a little curious. "Meet me after school at Berny's Cafe, there's a street near there that leads to an abandoned tree-house. We can talk there." directed Lyria.

As I headed to my next period I started thinking about whatever the hay I wanted. Again, something I don't mind doing, but this time it was different. Lyria was going to tell me what she knows about my family, my heritage, the reason I look different than others, etc. Of course I'd be questioning it all! The reason I'm here has always been a question that I hoped had an answer. As a young girl, I didn't really think of all that. Now I was going to know the truth, but was it really is the truth? What if she was going to lie to me? I didn't want to take that chance, but if she really does know something about my family, shouldn't I listen? I didn't know what I was feeling, and because of that I began to cry. I hadn't cried in forever, so that caught me off guard. I quickly went to the restroom and washed my face, trying not to catch anyone's attention.

By the time I forgot about that whole fiasco, school was over and classes were dismissed. I could go meet Lyria now, and find out if she really wasn't kidding. I rode my bike to Berney's Cafe and realized that the street Lyria told me about was being repainted. I had to sneak in through in the woods, leading me to find a shortcut. I don't know how that's important, but it was definitely a relief. I found the abandoned tree-house and saw Lyria standing outside, reading a book in a whole different language. I wanted to ask what it was, but it didn't seem all that important. What really was important is the fact that she knows something about me that I don't know myself. "Glad you could make it," she said, as if this were some kind of dramatic movie. "Your name is Keraline Divine, and you're not from this planet."

"Haha, real funny. I guess you really were kidding-"

"But I'm not though."

"Don't be silly, you really made me believe you and now you're telling me a bunch of lies. It's not funny so just.."

"Kera, please, listen to me! I'm not one to lie!"

"STOP!" I yelled, a beam of light shooting out of my hands. I didn't expect that to happen, and it really made me freak out. I just froze as tears ran down my face. I felt a hand pulling on my shirt, just like in Mr. Bean's class. "Kera! Stop fooling around! You saw that beam of light come out of you, this is what I'm trying to tell you! You're not from this world!" I stayed silent, feeling as if I was trapped in a well with nothing but me and my puddle of tears. "I can't believe that just happened.." I said, shakily. "It's going to be fine, just come into the tree-house, I have something I want to show you." I stumbled towards the tree, climbed the ladder, and entered the cracked door. I couldn't believe my eyes. Through the blur of my tears I found books and drawings pasted on the walls with letters and words in a different language, same as in the book Lyria was reading. "Here," she said, handing me a letter signed with the initials A.U. "I hope you find what you're looking for," explained Lyria.

I began reading, astonished.

*Thanks so much again for reading, your support is really helpful! I know it's not much, but it really encourages me to continue this story. It's 11:43 P.M. as I write this, as always it being late. Hah, anyhow, episode 7 will include the letter that Lyria gave to Kera. Have a good night! Or good day if you're reading this during the day.

Keraline Divine is a strange 15 year old girl. Her attributes are quite unique, but she is kind-hearted, once you get to know her.. She dislikes her name, Keraline, so goes by Kera. At a young age, her life was pretty normal. But when she met Lyria Justice, everything changed. Guess you could say it was "out of this world". Experience what every minute of her life has been like ever since meeting Lyria in this fantasy world through words. Hardly though, how could anyone explain this universe?
