Calyx Sparks
Calyx woke up on one of the beds in the nurse's office with a terrible headache. He kept his eyes closed for a while, and when he finally tried to open them he was blinded by the white walls. He groaned.
Why do white walls even exist? They're painful to look at and stain easily. The walls weren't the worst part. The worst part was the overwhelming smell of cough drops. Calyx wrinkled his nose and sat up. When he glanced across the room, his heart skipped a beat. The blond boy from tryouts was sleeping soundly in another bed in the office. He sat there, debating if he should get a closer look. He got a closer look. Calyx quietly snuck towards the boy until he was right beside the bed. The boy felt... Familiar. Not like they had met before but some other way? That doesn't even make sense.
He moved closer, trying to think harder if they'd met before. His hair looked like the boy had rolled out of bed and didn't bother to brush it. He was about to turn and leave, but right before he did, the boy's eyes flew open and saw him standing there.
He sat up and said, "Were you just-" before he could continue, Calyx practically flew out of the suffocating white room. He didn't stop until he made it to the bathroom. He knew exactly what the boy thought. He had been really close to the boy's face, he probably thought Calyx was going to kiss him. That's what he would think if it happened to him. He sighed and checked his phone. He called his mom, who already knew about the passing out because the school had called her. She came to pick him up and tried to take him to the hospital, but he managed to convince her not too. He had passed out for about 30 minutes so it was around 4pm when they got home.
His mom demanded that he should lie down. No matter how much he tried to convince her that he was fine, she wouldn't budge. Calyx went to bed, the only thing on his mind was that boy.
His dreams that night were filled with bright lightning and a pair of blue/green eyes. Something different now was that he didn't get the mysterious feeling that he should do something. It seemed to have stopped with the 'lightning on his hands' dream. And he thankfully didn't wake up on the floor.
