Calyx Sparks
When he got up the next morning, he hoped beyond hope that he would not see the blonde-haired boy.
So, naturally, he had first class with him. Calyx put his head down to hide his face. He knew that the only seats open were in the back, so he would be able sit up when the blond boy took his seat. Calyx wasn't the only kid with black hair after all.
Suddenly, to his horror, the teacher said, "There's an open seat beside Calyx, you can sit there." Just his luck. Either the girl that used to sit there was out sick, or left school. Instead, he got a guy who thought he tried to kiss him. At least Calyx's head was facing the other way.
The teacher started calling roll. He panicked. He would have to lift his head for his teacher to see him and mark him present. Resigned, he lifted his head in time for his name to be called out. The blond boy glanced over and let out a strangled gasp of surprise. Calyx went ahead and stayed sitting up. The blond boy had already seen him, and he need to pay attention in class. The teacher asked Blondie for his name. 'Adriel Llyr.' Now he remembered it from swim tryouts. He tried to pay attention in class, but it was hard when Blondie was staring at him for the first half of the class. Then he stopped and passed out on the table, sleeping as soon as his head hit the desk.
When the bell rung, Blondie sat up immediately, fully awake. He grabbed his bag and left. He glanced at Calyx one more time, and this time he accidentally locked eyes with him. Blondie's eyes widened before he was forced out the door by people coming out of the classroom. Damn gold eyes. His eyes only gave him trouble.
His last class, as soon as he walked in, surprise! Blondie. Thankfully, he was on the other side of the room. Not thankfully, his seat was facing Calyx's. Back to the staring game. A little bit into the class, he decided to play along. When he was positive Blondie's eyes were on him, he looked up and stared at him directly in the eyes. He froze and Calyx felt an intense satisfaction. He didn't look away until Blondie did. He then went to sleep. Does he get any work done?
After school, he went to swim practice. Blondie made it in. He didn't look real happy that he was chosen to be a part of the team. Calyx wondered if it was because of him.
At some point, one of his 'friends' came over to tell him that someone was checking him out. The 'friend' then cracked up and subtly nodded towards where Blondie had been sitting. "The one with the eyes," His 'friend' said. Calyx stared at him, waiting for him to realize what he'd just said. He didn't. "Everybody has eyes, you dumbass."
He looked insulted and replied, "You know what I mean. The one with the blue and green eyes. Look, he's doing it again!" Calyx was pretty sure Blondie might be staring at him, but not at his body the way his 'friend' had said. He glanced over in a way that Blondie didn't notice. Uh… Yeah he was checking him out. He didn't know whether to be embarrassed or laugh. He ended up in between, choking and laughing at the same time.
His 'friend' cracked up and said, "I'm going to yell at him to stop checking you out," He took a deep breath and Calyx quickly put his hand over his mouth to stop him. And kept it there. And glared at him. His friends eyes stayed locked on his and then he suddenly pushed Calyx's hand away and kissed him.
Just like that. Then he pushed Calyx's hand away with a shocked look on his face. Then he looked horrified and quickly left the room. Calyx sat there, looking and feeling confused. He tried to ignore the stares. He shook his head and took out his phone, pretending to do something, but never even turned it on. He was struggling to come to terms that he just kissed the male. He had always been straight... Or so he thought? Honestly, he'd never been one to like romance much. He dated a couple of girls and lost his virginity and shit, so he wasn't innocent or shy. He'd just never liked it much. But now he'd been kissed by a guy and didn't hate it…?
