Flash!
The police officer took a photo of what appears to be a dead body inside an animatronic suit. He turned around to see another man who'd just arrived at the scene.
"Hello there Officer Bonnick."
"Hello," replied Bonnick. "Do you have any identifiable features on this body?"
"It's hard to identify due to the amount of, uh, injuries the body has taken. But we believe it was a male. That's all we've gathered so far."
"There's another one, correct?" Bonnick questioned.
"Yes, it's over here."
The two officers walked out of the Parts and Service room, past several other police members, and into an office-type room.
"This is it. It's in a similar condition to the other body we found. The only difference is that we believe it was a female." The officer informed Bonnick.
"Hm, do you know why they're separated? This one seems further away from the nearest exit." Questioned Bonnick.
"We think there was a blackout, the fuses for the lights seem to have been taken out. On purpose."
"On purpose?"
"Yes. This might be more than an 'accident'. And it doesn't seem like a coincidence either. Additionally, there were no fingerprints on the fuse box." Replied the officer.
"Interesting, we'll need to ask the owner some questions about this." Bonnick said while rubbing his chin.
"As a matter of fact, we've already called him. He should be here any minute now."
They walked out of the office and into the main dining area. On cue, Bonnick saw and recognised him as he entered the building.
"Ah, hello Officer...?"
"Bonnick. Alvin Bonnick,"
Bonnick and the man shook hands.
"Do you mind if we ask you a few questions?" Bonnick asked.
"It depends. But I can try and answer them."
"Alright then, please, take a seat."
They both sat down on the nearest table with chairs.
"Do you have any knowledge about what happened last night?" Bonnick said.
"No, I have no idea."
"But you do have knowledge about what your suit can do, correct?"
"Yes, I designed them after all."
"Then you should be aware that well-cared supervision would've at least prevented this. We've also read that this restaurant isn't exactly up-to-date with health and safety policies. So we recommend hiring a nightguard and banning the use of springlock suits or we may have to file legal charges. Do you understand?"
"Yes. Yes, I do."
"Good. That is all for now.
Bonnick pushes his chair out and stands up.
"We'll keep in contact, Mr. Afton."
THE END
-EXTENDED ENDING-
Bonnick walked away and Afton was left alone. He took out his phone and called someone.
"Hello? Oh, yes, it's me. I know. You're the one that wanted this job for a while right? Great. Well, it seems like a new position has opened up just for you. Dayshift? No, night. 12 am to 6 am. Good. Fantastic. Oh and before you go, what's your name again? Uh-huh. Jeremy Fitzgerald. Got it. Bye."
Afton ends the call.
