"He can help you," cooed the administrator, gesturing at a very tall young man who stood with a hunch and peered through his dark bangs and over his glasses, "This is Uuzhit." Asakay and Inyoninko looked to Uuzhit and nodded at him. "Uuzhit," the administrator called, earning a glance from all three, "Can you help these two with the rest? They just came here from Shsyryo." Asakay was about to interrupt but Inyoninko kicked him. He hunched over the desk and smiled. "You're from Saluuzhkat," the woman continued, "yes?"
The very tall young man named Uuzhit smiled. "Hamuu Saluuzhkat."
The administrator ignored him. She initially turned to Inyoninko but then focused on Asakay whose brows rose as he strained to look up. "Uuzhit is one of our most notorious students." Asakay mustered a smile. "He can help you two with anything, alright?" She checked that Uuzhit agreed but did not look at him long. "Anything. Books. Your student accounts. Getting settled in the dorms, picking your schedules." Inyoninko noticed the cool glare behind shaded glasses and stopped the administrator from going on.
"Thank you," she said and looked to Uuzhit. "We'll be relying on you then."
Uuzhit nodded. He glanced at the administrator, not having dealt with whatever business he came for but looking at Inyoninko, he gestured with his head to follow and turned. With another "thanks" to the administrator, Inyoninko grabbed Asakay by the back of his shirt and dragged him away. She could feel Asakay making some series of gestures towards the administrator but she did not want to know. Outside the office door, they met with Uuzhit. Whatever Asakay had been signing, it made Uuzhit curious, a frown warring with a smile on his face. It seemed as if he wanted to ask but he said nothing, so when Asakay straightened up and stood between the two, Inyoninko asked for him. "Were you just hitting on the admin?"
Asakay grinned. "Hell yes."
Inyoninko looked to Uuzhit and explained. "Name's Asakay. Age 18. Flashy, loves sex with middle-aged women."
Smiling, Uuzhit inclined his head to her. "Uuzhit," he muttered, "19." Asakay and Inyoninko waited but he said nothing else.
"What," Asakay cried and threw his arm over Uuzhit's shoulders, "That's it? No one interesting thing, come on."
Uuzhit glanced at Inyoninko. He smirked and looked to Asakay who, despite being noticeably big and tall, was still a bit shorter than him. "My girlfriend has a habit of breaking into my room. Five years. And can't tell anyone."
Asakay nodded with satisfaction and looked to Inyoninko. "Love 'im."
"And you?"
Inyoninko inclined her head. "Inyoninko. Ghost Order. Age 19." Uuzhit nodded but she did not know whether that meant he understood.
"Ghost order," he affirmed. She nodded. "I heard about the arenas in Hamuu Shsyryo. Sports, martial arts, physical challenges. They're big there. But Ghost Order."
Asakay pounded his palm with his fist, smiling like a fool but with a glare from Inyoninko, he hunched back a bit. "One of the highest orders of accomplishment," he boasted, side-glancing at Inyoninko to see if she approved. "Means we're the bosses in city-wide challenges. We own the competition, the best!" Inyoninko peered at him with the ghost of a smile.
"So what are you two the best at?"
Inyoninko pointed at Asakay. "Punching and kicking. He specializes in straight-up arena fights." Asakay folded his arms and beamed with pride.
"And you?"
Asakay laughed. "You don't wanna ask her that. She's the head of Ghost, you know." Inyoninko smiled. With a roll of her eyes, she looked away. "Why, she's the boss of hunter's challenge." Her smile dropped.
Uuzhit tensed. His eyes widened with recognition. Asakay and Inyoninko noticed and watched as he looked between them. "Hunter's challenge. Isn't that where you kill?"
Before Asakay could answer, Inyoninko interjected. "It's the death sentence for criminals, yes. One last all-out challenge for survival. No teams except a last chance."
"You run them down. Or shoot." Uuzhit looked between them. "Do any criminals ever?"
Asakay smirked. "Not when Inyoninko plays."
Uuzhit stared at her. After a moment, he lowered his head. Asakay moved to protest but Inyoninko took his wrist and squeezed it to the bone. He gritted his teeth, bending towards her. "Best if you don't tell anyone, right." She looked to Uuzhit. "They hear it. Even if they play the games or watch." He looked her in the eyes. "Just glad you're not. You know." The unspoken weighed between them. Though he still had the urge to remark, Asakay stared at Uuzhit as he shifted closer to Inyoninko. She also stared at Uuzhit, processing those words and looked away.
"Keep it to yourself, yeah?"
Uuzhit nodded at Asakay and chuckled. "You two. We," he amended, "Are terrible at keeping secrets."
Inyoninko nodded.
Asakay rubbed the back of his head and laughed on her shoulder.
