Wallkery sat in the bed trying, in vain, to tell what was going on the other side of the room. She could tell that Maradith was not happy with whoever was at the door. Finally, she watched Maradith close the door and move back to the other side of the rustic cabin.
As Maradith approached the cot where Wallkery was stuck she sighed
“So who was that?” Wallkery asked gleefully, giggling.
“Ah, I see that the peppermint poppy seed Pura has finally kicked in.” Maradith remarked as she sat down to continue at her cooking pot.
After a while the mixture caused Wallkery to enter a deep and restless sleep as she dreamed of the events that she had experienced. While she was asleep Maradith worked on a reason to keep people from disturbing her patient. Finally, she put a sign on the front door that read ‘Do Not Disturb’
This plan was quite ingenious because only the respectful and patient people had bothered to take reading lessons and so everyone else would feel embraced and not bother them.
When Wallkery awoke it was dark and the only light was coming from the moon outside of the window. she could hear muffled voices and worst of all she was in extreme pain and tied up with a cloth in her mouth.
