Ep. 6

Maria didn't need new friends. That's what she thought on the matter, anyhow. The only friend she needed were the ones she already has, and her dragon buddy. She especially didn't want to be babysat by some guard.

"Wait!"

Maria ignored his yelling.

"Wait, hold on!" as the guard yelled this, he began to jog up beside her to catch up.

Still ignoring him, Maria began to speed up. The guard kept pace.

"Look, I don't know why you're so reluctant to be helped, and while I do think you can handle yourself just fine, I'm quitting my job as a guard anyhow. But for now, I'd like to come with you so that when you find this guy I can put him in a cell."

Glancing at him, Maria's thoughts began to whirr. He's quitting his job? Maybe he found something better to do. Maybe a higher paying job. That's none of my business.

Letting out an irritated sigh, knowing the guard more than likely wouldn't give up on this no matter how hard she tried to get him to screw off, she made a choice.

"Fine, you can come with me, but only on this and then you have to leave me alone, got it?"

Hey, this update was a tad late (sorry!), but to let everyone know, no I don’t plan for the guard to be the main characters love interest. So if that was deterring you, just know that that’s not the case between those two.
